Deidre Philpott Gets K U Scholarship Deidre Philpott, a native of Lanesboro, was recently awarded a $100 scholarship from the Association of Pennsylvania College and University Student-Faculty Liaison Scholarship Committee from the faculty union at Kutztown University. Deidre is a sophomore Psychology Major. The requirements for the scholarship are the student must be continuing at KU, be in financial need, have a minimum GPA 3.0, and 24 credits, 12 of which must have been completed at KU. Anne Supancik, Union Dale received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at the conclusion of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvanias spring semester, 2003. Jaime Benson Makes S C Dean's List Jaime Benson, Susquehanna, a junior majoring in Psychology at the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University was named to the Deans List for the Spring, 2003 semester. To qualify for the Deans List, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. Graytock Is Bucknell Research Fellow Lewisburg, PA Adam Graytock, Forest City, is participating in a summer research project at Bucknell University, funded by PricewaterhouseCoopers. A junior majoring in accounting, Adam is the son of Karen Graytock, Forest City, and Francis Graytock, Forest City. He is a graduate of Forest City Regional High School. While at Bucknell, he has been named to the Deans List for achieving a grade point average of at least 3.5 of a possible 4.0. He has been a member of the mens cross country and track and field teams. Faculty members and students work together in their research. Adams project, "An Exploration into the Social Impact of Differing Class-Based Consumption Styles," is being conducted with Bucknell management professor Douglas Allen. Adam is analyzing the impact that class-based consumption styles have on everyday life. Local Students Get Keystone Honors LaPlume Dr. Edward G. Boehm, Jr., Keystone College president and Charlotte Ravaioli, vice president of academic and student affairs and dean of the college, announced the students who have been named to the presidents list, deans list and honors list for the spring 2003 semester. Full-time students are eligible for honors after completing a minimum of 12 credits per semester. Part-time students are eligible for honors after the semester in which they earn 12 new credits. Students who achieve a grade point average of 4.000 are named to the presidents list. To qualify for the deans list and honors list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5003.999 and 3.2003.499 respectively. Full-time Deans List: Jennifer L. Michael Kowalewski Graduates Virginia Tech Blacksburg, Virginia Michael Kowalewski, Forest City, PA, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), graduated spring semester, 2003 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA. Jeffrey A. Rood, 412 Grand St., Susquehanna, was among the 393 Millersville University of Pennsylvania students who were recently recognized for academic achievement and service to the university at its 45th annual Honors and Awards Convocation. Jeffrey received the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar Athlete Award, which is presented at the end of each academic year to student athletes with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25. Heather Heller Makes U of S Dean's List Philadelphia, PA Heather Heller, Susquehanna, has been named to the Spring 2003 Dean's List at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Heather is a Physical Therapy student. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the Spring Semester of 2003. Heather is the daughter of Todd and Tammy Heller, Susquehanna. Erica Riecke Makes N U Dean's List Boston, MA Northeastern University is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year. Great Bend resident Erica Riecke, a Northeastern University student majoring in Physical Therapy, was recently named to the University's Dean's List for the spring quarter, 2003. To achieve the Dean's List distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.25 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.
