Gold From God's Word
Kingsley Church Calls Rev. James Madas

GOLD FROM GOD'S WORD

Rachael, a preschooler, had been waking in the middle of the night afraid and crying. Only crawling into bed with mom and dad seemed to soothe her fears. So when mom announced to the family that she would be away for a couple of days on a business trip, dad thought it time to take some preemptive action.

"Rachael," Dad said, "I have an idea. While Mom is away, suppose I sleep in your room on the top bunk?" She thought it was a good idea.

That night, Rachael went to sleep on time. A couple of hours later, when Dad crawled into the upper bunk, she was sleeping soundly, and she slept like that all night. The next morning Dad congratulated her on a full night's sleep.

"It was because you were in the room with me," she said. "But how did you know I was there? You were asleep when I came in and you never woke up the whole night." Rachael answered, "Because you said you would!"

Perhaps the biggest blessing of trusting Christ as your Savior and entering the family of God are the promises He has for His children. Of all the promises our Lord has given us, nothing is more practical in everyday living as His promise to always be with us! Nothing banishes fears or inspires courage so instantly as the knowledge that our Lord is ever by our side. I hope you have that real and intimate of a relationship with Christ. If not, we're here to help. "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me." ( Psalm 23:4)
