Kutztown University has conferred degrees on more than 1,225 students during the winter and spring, 2018 semesters.
Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year.
The cumulative grade point average necessary for honor distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80.
The following local students have been awarded degrees since the winter, 2018 announcement.
Thor Llewellyn Banks, of Nicholson with a Master of Education in Student Affairs.
Lindsey M Burdick, of Thompson with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Justin Hartman, of Hallstead with a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration in Finance.
Olivia Strauss, of Kingsley with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Elissa Muller, of Harford, was among the graduates recognized during University of the Sciences' 197th commencement celebration on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, in Philadelphia, PA.
Muller graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. She received the Leonard M. Krusinski '61 Memorial Prize, a cash award given by his wife to a worthy student intent on a career as an independent community pharmacist.
Keri Jones of Friendsville, PA, is one of nearly 200 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) Winter/Spring, 2018 Academic Honor Roll.
Jones, a gradute of Elk Lake School, is a member of the women's indoor/outdoor track and field team, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley.
The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity-level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher during their season of competition.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Rochester Institute of Technology's Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
Qualifying for the honor from our area are: Lucas Jodon, of Clifford Township, who is in the computer engineering program; Owen Brewer, of Montrose, who is in the electrical engineering program; Karolina Berg, of Susquehanna, who is in the graphic design program.
Nearly 750 students have been named to the President's List at Coastal Carolina University for the Spring, 2018 semester. Students named to the President's List acheived a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the semester.
Local students named to the President's List are: Kyra Ricci, a Biology major, Montrose; Benjamin Woolcock, a Finance major, Springville.
Kaitlyn Williams, majoring in Social Work from Freindsville, PA, was named to the Provost List at Saint Francis University. Williams was among the more than 800 students named to the Honors Lists for the Spring, 2018 semester.
To be named to the Provost's or Dean's Honors Lists students must have full-time status and attain a quality point average of at least 3.8 (Provost's) or 3.5 (Dean's) for the given semester.
The following students have been named to the spring, 2018 Dean's List at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2018.
Area students earning the honor are: Elissa Muller of Harford; Rachel Hubal of Thompson.
Susquehanna University congratulates its dean's list students for the spring, 2018 semester. The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.
Qualifying for the honor from our area were: Wynn Phillips, of Nicholson; Hannah Phillips, of Clifford.
