NOVEMBER 17

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: United Methodist Community Church hosts Borderline Brass and Friends for a Christmas Concert at 1:15pm. Join us for food and fellowship before the concert with a covered dish potluck following worship at noon. Borderline Brass will perform Christmas Carols before being joined by Friends for a Sing Along. A free will offering of nonperishable food items for Caring Community Food Pantry will be collected.

PAMPERED CHEF BINGO: St. Lawrence Trinity Center, 380 Franklin Street, Great Bend, will be holding a Pampered Chef Bingo on Friday, Nov. 17th. Bingo starts at 6PM sharp. HEALTHCARE FORUM: 7pm, New Milford Twp. Bldg., 19730 SR 11. For questions specific to Susquehanna County regarding the opioid epidemic, behavioral health, medicare, drug and alcohol programs, volunteer first responders, critical access care.

FREE LUNCH: Good News will be having a free Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 18 starting at 12PM at the St. Marks Church in New Milford. All are welcome!

BLACK BEAR WINERY is celebrating their 15th anniversary with an open house, on Sat and Sun, Nov 18 & 19. There will be two new wines released as part of the anniversary celebration, Queen Bee and Blue on Black, and the winemaker will be giving tours of the facility. Hors d’oeuvres and free tastings will be featured at the noon-6:00 open house located in Chenango Forks. PRE-ADVENT SERIES: On November 19 at 6:00pm, Alive Together! continues the pre-Advent series “Disney According to the Gospel” leading into the Advent series “A Disney CHRISTmas!” Alive Together! Meet at United Methodist Community Church, 406 Main Street, Great Bend.

FREE SUPPORT GROUP to help people cope with the upcoming holiday season after the loss of a loved one will be offered at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Six sessions; Tuesday evenings November 28, 2017 through January 2, 2018 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm in Conference Room #4 on the second floor of Wayne Memorial Hospital, 601 Park Street, Honesdale.

DECEMBER 7

WMH GRAND REOPENING: Bring a non-perishable food item to Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services’ grand reopening at 190 Delaware Street on Thursday, December 7th from 4-7pm and Wayne Memorial will match it. The food will go to the Wayne County Food Bank for the holidays. There will also be demonstrations in physical, occupational and speech therapy, such as LSVT Big & Loud for Parkinson’s patients and balance exercises for all ages.

DECEMBER 20

ADVENT ORGAN MEDITATION: featuring Evelyn and Richard Van Auken at the First Presbyterian Church of Montrose at noon followed by a soup luncheon.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner Planned

Are you tired of trying to prepare a holiday meal for one or two? Is your budget tight as the holidays and winter approach our area? Well, please come and be our guest on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd, for a traditional meal complete with turkey and all the fixings, at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, 1361 Main Street, Susquehanna. The dinner starts at noon and continues until 3pm, or all are served. If you have joined us for the recent community dinners, you know that friendship, kindness, hope, strength, good people, conversation, and delicious food are in ample supply. Everyone is invited to attend, so bring your neighbor, or ask a friend to join you, but, by all means, bring your appetite. We hope to see you on Thanksgiving Day.
