He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Madison Robbins, Megan Robbins, Makenna Robbins, Matthew Robbins, and Miles Sagerstrand.  Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Dewald, of Bloomsburg, PA.  He is predeceased by Daniel Wolfe, father, and Dorothy Wolfe, mother of Bloomsburg, Pa.

He graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1962 and went to Bloomsburg State College where he earned a Bachelors degree in Chemistry Education with a minor in Math and Physics in 1966.  He continued his education at Scranton University earning a Masters degree in Chemistry in 1973.  While at Bloomsburg State College he met his future wife, Sharon Ann LaBar and they were married in 1967.

After a year of teaching north of Philadelphia, he applied and was appointed to the position of Chemistry/Physics teacher in the Susquehanna Community School District.  He taught both chemistry and physics along with general science and physical science for 35 years until his retirement in 2001.  While at Susquehanna he developed a Practical Science course using the home as a vehicle to teach science.  He made presentations to the National Science Teachers Convention on the development and implementation of this course.  Mr. Wolfe worked hard to keep his own education current attending many seminars and inservice workshops throughout his teaching career.  He brought the use of computers into the chemistry and physics classrooms near the end of his career as a teacher.  Mr. Wolfe wrote and published an article for a national science magazine on planning and implementing a science expo in the school district.

Shortly after arriving at Susquehanna, he started his coaching career when appointed to the position of assistant football coach in charge of the offensive and defensive lines for a newly reestablished football program.  Along with the other coaches they took the team to a Suburban league championship in 1975.   While coaching football, he also took the position of Head Varsity Boys Track coach.   He developed the program to the point where the school built a track. Coach Wolfe was fortunate enough to coach teams that won four Northeast Athletic Conference championships in 1980, 81, 82 and 83.   He then started a cross country program at Susquehanna and won four more NAC championships, girls varsity in 1983, and boys varsity in 1989, 1990 and 1991.  In addition there were numerous junior high championships and two state medal winners in Cross Country.

While at Susquehanna Dan was Junior Class Advisor for several years early in his teaching career and Senior Class Advisor for several years near the end. Dan showed his leadership ability starting with becoming the president of the Susquehanna Community Education Association.

He also was president of the local Stonebridge Lions Club for two years.  After retiring from teaching Dan joined the Southern Tier Track Officials Association of New York and has officiated both high school and college meets for the last 12 years. He also volunteered for CHOW, a charity providing food to local food banks. Additionally, he and his wife took up ballroom dancing and both have enjoyed it over the past 20 plus years.

Dan was a man of passion, first and foremost was the passionate love he had for his wife, Sharon, his two daughters, and five grandchildren.  He loved them dearly and was always willing to do whatever he could to help them through this thing called life.   His next great passion was teaching and educating his students.  Beyond the school day he had a passion for coaching and love to work with his athletes in football, track and cross country.   His last great passion was ballroom dancing where and his wife would had performed several ballroom showcases in the Scranton area.
