This evidence-based program has been successfully employed by schools of nursing as part of their community health/gerontology curriculum, and by hospital/healthcare systems and community-based organizations as disease prevention education for older adults, particularly in undeserved areas.

Classes will be held at the Area Agency on Aging office in Montrose, located at 157 Spruce Street, Montrose on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. from May 23rd to June 22nd. Classes are free for older adults ages 60+. To register call the Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-982-4346. Participants will receive participant’s manual and light refreshments.

Local To Hold Book Signing

"Tell Them For Me" is a book of evidence that we are spirit beings as well as physical beings. The death of Brian Upright (who happens to be on the war memorial in the Shops plaza) during the Vietnam War was the beginning of an awareness-when an "angelic messenger" appeared to me the night before Brian's funeral and made the announcement through my grief, that "Jesus has a reason for you." This experience is only one of many that record the truth of a spiritual Kingdom in which Jesus Christ is Lord.  I shared a bold, supernatural experience in a fight of faith for my one-year-old daughter who was paralyzed by a malignant cancerous tumor, a neuroblastoma, in her spine. I cast out a demonic spirit of cancer and saw it leave my child's back in the name of Jesus. Through His Holy Blood, shed for us on His cross, and His Holy Name my daughter was healed. Growing up in a home where domestic violence, child abuse, and alcoholism were experienced, "Tell Them For Me" shows that family dysfunction has no social class preference, and that spirit can overcome any physical trauma on earth. "Tell Them For Me" also resounds with grace for forgiveness when relationships fail or life may seem overwhelming. Joy prevails through the love of a God who created us in His image and does not leave us.

As the author of "Tell Them For Me" I was born in Susquehanna, raised locally in Starrucca, and attended schools in that area. I graduated from Addison Central High School, in Addison, NY.  I earned a college degree at Cape Cod College and graduated from Binghamton University with my degree in Human Development. I married locally, Brent Upright. I have two children and two step children, all adults. Brent and I live in Painted Post, New York, an area of the Finger Lakes and vineyards. Holding many secular positions in the human service field, I am currently in Ministry with the leadership team of The Remnant Sons of God, based in Pittsburgh Pa. I minister in churches where ever I am asked to, hold workshops, speak at conferences and minister as needed.

My Book Signing for "Tell Them For Me" is being held in Susquehanna on Saturday, May 6th , 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Schneider's Plaza. It would be my joy and privilege to meet you and share my book with you.

Due to the sensitive topics in the book I did not use given names for several of the characters. However, I know there will be places and people you may recognize. Come out and introduce yourself. I'm glad to be part of the community as a local author.
