Blue Ridge Wrestling is celebrating its 50th anniversary! That’s right, the first team was implemented during the 1966-67 school year with Carl Taylor being its first coach. It has grown over the last fifty years, with us now ending the current 2016-17 season.
The Blue Ridge Wrestling Booster Club will be celebrating this special event on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Blue Ridge School Cafeteria, starting with a social hour at 4:00 and dinner at 5:15 with a program to follow.
Please help us reach out and invite past alumni: wrestlers, cheerleaders, coaches, & mangers from the different decades. Alumni are encouraged to bring any photos, awards, or memorabilia to place on display tables as well as their stories to share. We look forward to celebrating this milestone event along with recognizing our current wrestlers and club wrestlers from this season.
Information can be found on the Blue Ridge Wrestling Booster Club Facebook page. Please RSVP by Thursday, April 13 to Karen Gudykunst at 570-465-2608; or gudywhite@hotmailcom.
In addition, there will be a basket raffle and/or silent auction if any business or alumni or current wrestling family would like to donate. Let’s keep our Blue Ridge Wrestling program growing strong. We hope to see many past alumni at the banquet.
