Mary Regina (McCawley) Burke
Mary Burke, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Dr. E.V. McCawley and Mary Regina (Nolan) McCawley. She was predeceased by Maurice J. Burke; her sister, Anne (McCawley) McGinley; and brother, Thomas McCawley.
She is survived by her children, Mariellen Burke, Joseph and Ruth Burke, Maureen Burke Santos, Susan Burke and Thomas Kinsman, Michael Burke and Barbara Fenescey, Dr. John McCawley Burke and Patrick Burke; her grandchildren, Ryan Benoit, Joseph and Michelle Burke, Sean and Kimberly Burke, Tara and Douglas Ruckle, Brynne Santos, Aaron and Helene Kinsman, Eamon and Danya Kinsman, Conor Kinsman, Caitlin Burke, Kelly Burke and Morgan Burke; great-grandchildren, Christian, Joseph, Jordan, Kiera and Chase Burke; Briana, Brian and Brynn Burke, Nolan and Izzy Ruckle, Marley, Poppy and Dorian Kinsman, Gabriel, Tiguen and Lochlan Kinsman; her niece Jane (McGinley) Bernier; nephews, Michael McGinley, Mark McGinley.
Mary was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy and Mansfield University. She taught for 2 years in Baltimore, MD before marrying and coming back to Susquehanna where she taught English and Latin in Susquehanna Community High School throughout her career as an educator. She loved music and singing harmonies, and instilled that love of music in her children as well. She was an avid reader, and a wonderful cook. She loved Cape Cod and had a home there for many years. Her hobbies included oil painting, cake decorating and creating many works of art for her family through knitting. She took great joy in motherhood and was a bright light to all. Her positive attitude and sense of humor helped to shape her family. Mary was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish where she received all of her sacraments, from Baptism through Last Rites.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. David Cramer officiating.
Burial was in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.

Richard H. Clark
Richard Henry Clark, 89, of Jackson, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at his home after an illness.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Ruth Clark; step son, Lee Roger Price; daughter-in-law, Annette Walker; step son-in-law, Raymond Kilmer; brothers, Donald, Gerald and Reginald Clark.
Richard was survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Wademan) Clark; son, William Walker, Mesa, AZ; daughter, Sherry Sparks, Uniondale, PA; step-sons, Gene and Donna Price, Thompson, PA, Lewis and Kitty Price, Uniondale, PA, Dennis and Anita Price, Oakland, PA, Dean Price and Sara Lee, Deposit, NY; step daughters, Sandy Kilmer, Thompson, PA, and Lisa Allen, Oakland, PA; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard served in the United States Army during WWII as a Sgt. During the war he served in the special services in Germany with the 1st formation of the Constabulary, who came under fire at the Russian Boarder. He was proud of his service to his country. After his time in the military Richard went to work for himself as a General Contractor, which he stayed devoted to until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Great Bend VFW, American Legion, Susquehanna, and the Moose Lodge, Susquehanna. Richard will dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson, Ave. Susquehanna, PA with Pastor Earl Cottrell officiating.
Interment will be held in the Gelatt Cemetery, Gelatt, PA.
Charles E. Boman Sr.
Charles Boman Sr. 76, of Boman’s Road in Jackson, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2017, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Gertrude (Miller) Boman; and his two sons, Scott and Kurt Boman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, June A. Boman; his children, Bill and Kathryn Boman, Sandra and Earl Marvin, Chuck and Lori Boman Jr.; sister, Arlene Schnieder; grandchildren, Ashley and Justin Peake, Amanda Boman, Scott Boman, Zack Boman, Brooke and Courtney Marvin; great-granddaughter, Kadence Boman; several nieces and nephews.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Paratrooper. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #560 Truck Driver’s Union. Charles enjoyed camping and taking trips to Florida, most important to him though was spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA.
Interment will be held in the Ararat Cemetery, Ararat, PA.
