JANUARY 12

Susquehanna Community Assisted Recovery: Thursday January 12 at 7pm at the Susquehanna Community High School Auditorium the guest speakers and panelist, Mayor Nancy Hurley, CRS John Fabiseski, CADC Judith Herschel, Susquehanna Police Chief Sweet and Individuals in Recovery, would like to welcome every member of the community to join us as we begin the conversation concerning addition crisis in our area. This will be a night of sharing, caring and truth about substance use disorder. Together we can develop solutions for a better tomorrow. Lupo’s Chicken Spiedies Sandwiches: Every Thursday from January 12 to February 9 in the front of the gym lobby at Susquehanna High School. Selling from 4:30pm – 6pm. All proceeds go to SCHS Student Council for their leadership training at State Conference.

CLASSIC GUITAR CONCERT: Sunday, January 15 at 3:00PMat the Self Discovery Wellness Arts Center, 200 Lake Avenue, Montrose, PA. Classic Guitar Cocnert in the Carriage House presented by Jay Steveskey, classic guitarist and teacher, returns to warm us with Spanish and South American compotistions. Cheese Tasting: Tuesday, January 17 from Noon to 2pm at the St. Marks Community Center, Main St., New Milford, PA. Come participate in a cheese tasting (how well do you know your favorite?). Bring a sandwich. Drinks and dessert are provided. FREE. Every adult Susquehanna County Neighbor is invited.

Senior Center Menu - Jan 16-20

MONDAY: BBQ Chicken sandwich, tomato basil soup, broccoli slaw, roll, sorbet.

TUESDAY: Lemon pepper pork loin, boiled new potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, roll, sugar cookie.

WEDNESDAY: Crispy baked fish, green beans and stewed tomatoes, macaroni and cheese, crackers, fresh fruit salad.

THURSDAY:  Roast turkey, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, roll, graham crackers.

FRIDAY: Hearty beef and bean stew, mixed vegetables, cornbread, whipped gelatin parfait.

SCAR Meeting

A public meeting of the SCAR (Susquehanna Community Assisted Recovery) will take place Thursday, January 12, 7pm at the High School Auditorium. They welcome every member of the community to join in a conversation concerning the addiction crisis in our are. This will be a night of sharing, caring and truth about substance use disorder in an effort to develop solutions for a better tomorrow.

Guest speakers and panelists include Mayor Nancy Hurley, CRS John Fabiseski, CADC Judith Herschel, Susquehanna Police Chief Sweet as well as individuals in recovery.

Fall Prevention For Area Seniors

Most People know that having a fall injury, such as a hip fracture can be devastating, to both the person and to his or her family. But many people do not know that there are steps you can take to reduce your risk of falling. Healthy Steps for Older Adults is a program to help people prevent falls and improve their health.

Healthy Steps for Older Adults will be held at Lanesboro Senior Center located at 3006 Turnpike St., Susquehanna, Pa, on Thursday, February 16th, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 

Lunch will be provided by Barnes Kasson Hospital. Pre-registration is required by February 14th.
