Stanley I. Zwirble
Stanley I Zwirble, 84, of Endicott, died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.
He is survived by Dhun, his wife of 42 years; his 5 children, James, Walter, Maureen, Bernadine, Colleen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born in Boston, MA on September 5th, 1932, the ninth of ten children to Polish immigrants Ignacy and Mary Zwirble, Stan graduated from North Eastern University in Boston in 1955 with a degree in electrical engineering. Stan served in the US Army Reserve in the Signal Corp and attained the rank of Captain. Taking a job at IBM, he moved to Endicott where he started his family. Stan spent his entire professional career at IBM, principally in Endicott, but also took temporary assignments in Germany and in India, where he met his wife, Dhun in 1973. At IBM he worked in computer design, starting with the use of vacuum tubes, through the adoption of large-scale integrated circuits and personal computers.
When not at work Stan played golf, darts, horseshoes and in later years pool. Stan had a great love for animals and fed all the neighborhood cats who repaid his care by following him around like the Pied Piper.
Gladys I. Cobb
Gladys I. Cobb, 88, of Meadowview Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA, formerly of Ararat, PA passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 22, 2016. Born August 19, 1928 in Bridgewater Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel [Valentine] Phillips. Her husband, Willard Cobb predeceased 19 years ago.
She worked at the Susquehanna County Courthouse for 20 years. She was also a farmer’s wife, raising her children and helping her husband.
She was a former member of the Fairdale Grange. Gladys enjoyed sewing and piecing together quilts, along with baking. Her family loved her apple pies.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Steven Kupscznk of Springville, PA, son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Betty Cobb of Thompson, PA; grandchildren, Kristina Kinney, Kyle Kupscznk and Willard "Billy" Cobb; great grandson, Matthew Kinney; sister, Nancy Phillips of Montrose, PA.
Graveside Services: 11AM, Thursday at the Fairdale Cemetery, Fairdale, PA with the Father Charles Cesaretti, officiating.

Lloyd Morgan Hall
Lloyd Morgan Hall, 93, of Berwick, PA, formerly of Susquehanna and South Montrose, PA, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. Born January 24, 1923 in Susquehanna, PA, he was the son of the late Lloyd P. and Gladys T. [Morgan] Hall. His wife, Margaret Marie [Garrett] Hall preceded him in death on April 2, 2010.
He was a graduate of SUNY and East Stroudsburg Universities. For many years, he was a school psychologist at BOCES and later was a physical therapist at various places which included the Montrose General Hospital.
Lloyd served as a dental technician in the Navy during World War II.
In earlier years he enjoyed bowling, playing cards and hunting, even raising his own hunting dogs. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughter show horses and play softball.
He is survived by his daughter and her significant other, Kim Daniels and Bob Paden of Berwick, PA; grandchildren, Lauren Daniels, Ben Hall, Calli Hall; step-children, Bonnie Lahr, Gary Lahr; nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Jeffery Hall, step daughter, Kathleen Lahr and a brother, Francis Hall.
Memorial Service was held Saturday, October 29, at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA.
