Carol Birdsall Brownell, 83, Altamonte Springs, FL passed away at her assisted living home at Bridgeport, Port Cardif on March 16, 2016 after a recent debilatating fall. Carol was under the tender care and nursing of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care.
Carol was preceeded in death by her parents, James and Lela Craft Birdsall, Susquehanna, PA, her husband for life of 58 years, Donald A Brownell, Port Orange, FL and his parents Clarence and Jeannette Birdsall Brownell, Starrucca, PA.
She is also survived by 3 of her 4 children, as first born Christine Brownell (Harold) Thorn passed away merely 3 weeks after her mother's death. Also surviving are daughters, Debi (George) Farmer, Nancy (Matt) Figura, son Donald A. Brownell, Jr. (Teresa) all of FL, and more than "in-laws", sister Pat (Tom) Dudley, brothers Ron (Laura) Brownell, Dave (Vicki) Brownell, all of Coxton Lake, PA. Also 8 grandchildren, Shannon, Tracy Strong, Doug, Greg, Renee Brownell, Brandon Brownell, Dusty and Joshua Cartrette, 4 great grandchildren, Alexander, Aurora Molina, Kendall , Lacey Cartrette. Many other surviving neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins of the local area and throughout the country.
Carol was active for many years at the Starrucca United Methodist, Thompson Methodist Church, choirs, lawn suppers, etc. It was Carol's great joy to host several reunions of the Craft/Potter/Washburn/Tiffany families at the family property at Coxton Lake.
A combined celebration of the lives of Carol Brownell and her daughter, Chris Brownell Thorn will be held at 11 am on August 13, 2016 at the North Jackson Cemetary, Rt. 92, Susquehanna, PA. All are invited to the Thompson Methodist Church for a fellowship luncheon with pictures, stories and shared memories.
