Theft by Unlawful Taking: Between December 7th and 18th, one or more unknown perpetrator(s) attempted to gain entry to the Franklin United Methodist Church in Franklin Forks, by prying open a screen. The perpetrator(s) were not able to make entry but stole approximately half a tank of heating oil from an oil tank located outside the church. It was unknown as of the time of report how much oil was taken. The investigation was ongoing as of the time of report. Anyone with information is urged to please contact PSP Gibson at (570) 465-3154.
Burglary: Between November 30th and December 15th, unknown perpetrator(s) attempted to force entry into the residence of a New Milford Township man, through a door and windows. The perpetrator(s) were unsuccessful, and fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the police at (570) 465-3154.
Burglary: Between December 9th and 17th, one or more unknown perpetrator(s) gained entry to the Rush Township residence of a Meshoppen man and a Montrose man, by removing a small basement window. The perpetrator(s) then entered the residence and removed various types of generators, compressors, turbo heaters, and a set of Cooper Discover Tires with factory Ford rims. The investigation was under investigation as of the time of report. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
Crash: On December 17th at 5 pm an unnamed woman was traveling south on Sr 29 in Springville. While traveling south at about 45 miles per hour, a deer ran out into the roadway from the left. The driver slammed on her brakes and hit the deer. The vehicle then slid off the roadway into a ditch on the right side. No information on injury was listed in the report.
Theft: An SKS rifle was taken from the Auburn Township residence of a Meshoppen man sometime between the 24th of August and 1st of November. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
Burglary: Between November 30th and December 6th, one or more perpetrator(s) entered the garage of a Bridgewater Township man through an unlocked side door, and removed tools from within.
Access Device Fraud: An attempted unauthorized credit card purchase occurred against a New Milford man on December 15th. The reported incident occurred at a Victoria's Secret store in Livingston, NJ.
Disorderly Contact: One December 15th, two male juvenile students engaged in a physical altercation at Blue Ridge High School.
Burglary: On November 16th, unknown perpetrator(s) gained entry to a New Milford borough residence, by praying open a rear door. The perpetrator(s) then entered the residence and removed various types of medication, along with approximately $150 in change and cash. The incident was under investigation as of the time of report.
Criminal Mischief: Between December 1st and 15th, the window of a vacant farmhouse on Highlands Road in Great Bend Township was smashed out.
Crash: On December 13th at 9:40 pm a juvenile male from Hop Bottom lost control of a Dodge Ram while driving on G Williams Street in Lathrop Township. The vehicle crashed into and became stuck in a deep ditch. No injuries were reported.
Harassment: On December 5th at 2:03 am troopers responded to a harassment incident in Middletown Township. The victim, a woman, reported an argument occurred at the residence. She related that her boyfriend had become angry during the argument and began to shove her around. The accused then put his hands around the victim's throat during the argument. The accused had left the scene prior to police arrival. He was cited for assault Harassment through District Court 34-3-01.
Burglary: On December 13th at approximately 2:15 am a crime occurred in which an unknown man of unknown race and age, approximately 6'3” tall, with an average build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and riding a red mountain bike, entered a New Milford borough home through an unlocked side basement door. Once inside the suspect went to a 14 year old girl's room, where the suspect stood at the side of the victim's bed. The victim awoke to the suspect shining a light in her eyes. She asked the suspect “who are you”. The suspect didn't say anything and then left the room and went downstairs, exiting through the side basement door through which he entered. The victim then woke her parents who ran out of the residence and observed the suspect across the street in a neighbor's yard. The victim's mother chased the suspect, who was riding a red mountain bike. The suspect then fled south on Church Street, riding the bicycle. Anyone with any information is urged to please contact the police.
Crash: On December 7th at 5:15 pm a one vehicle crash occurred as a Nicholson man was traveling east on Sr 374 in Lenox Township. The driver, traveling too fast for conditions, lost control of the vehicle, as he was negotiating a right curve. The Cirrus spun around on the roadway and slid backwards into a ditch on the south side of Sr 374. It then hit an embankment and a couple of small trees before coming to an uncontrolled stop. The driver was not injured; seat belt use was listed as none used or not applicable.
Harassment: On December 11th at 5:25 pm a Susquehanna man and a Thompson man were involved in an altercation on Hobbs Road in Ararat Township. The Thompson man is accused of physically assaulting the victim. The accused then grabbed the victim about the arm. The man was cited for violation of Pa CC/270 Harassment.
Burglary: Between December 5th and 10th a Jackson Township hunting cabin, belonging to a Fort Washington man, was burglarized. The perpetrator(s) entered the cabin by kicking open an entrance door, rummaged through the cabin, and stole a 12 gauge side x side shotgun and a 20 gauge pump shotgun. The shotguns had an estimated value of $800. Anyone with information is asked to please contact PSP Gibson.
Criminal Mischief: On December 10th, between 7:45 am and 2:00 pm unknown perpetrator(s) damaged the back door of a Gibson Township location with an unknown blunt object. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the police.
Simple Assault: On December 1st at 4:32 am a Montrose man is accused of striking a Montrose woman in the head with a plastic flashlight, and throwing a metal/glass lantern at her - causing injury to the victim's hand. Charges of Simple Assault and Harassment were filed through District Court 34-3-01.
Commercial Vehicle Crash: On December 9th at 8:20 am Kaylee Swart of Montrose was traveling westbound on Sr 3023, while William Carey of Pittston was traveling northbound on Sr 29, and Charles Baker of Montrose was traveling southbound on Sr. 29. Swart came to the intersection with Sr 29 and ran through a stop sign at the intersection, attempting to turn right into the path of the northbound Carey. Carey's vehicle struck the driver side of Swart's vehicle with its front end. After the impact with Swart's vehicle, Carey's vehicle rotated counterclockwise and struck the driver side of Baker's vehicle with its passenger side. Swart's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Carey's vehicle and Baker's vehicle sustained minor to no damage and were driven from the scene. Swart sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital; seat belt use was listed as none used or not applicable. Carey and Baker were not injured in the crash; Carey is listed as using a seat belt.
Crash: On December 8th at 7 am Madeleine Rouviere of Wilmington, De was traveling South on I81 near mm 211. She was traveling in the driving lane behind a tractor trailer. Rouviere attempted to pass the tractor trailer in the passing lane. While negotiating into the passing lane, she swerved to miss and animal carcass that was in the lane. The woman lost control, and went into the median. The vehicle struck the valley bottom of the median then rolled over, coming to an uncontrolled rest on its left side in the median facing north. Harford and Clifford fire and EMS responded to the scene. The driver was transported to CMC hospital for treatment by Harford EMS; a seat belt was in use. Kozlowski towed the vehicle from the scene.
Crash: On December 1st at 4:50 pm an unnamed driver was traveling southbound in the left hand lane of I81. The vehicle struck a deer that was in the roadway, having just been struck by a tractor trailer. It drove approximately 2 miles and the vehicle began to overheat. It was found that the transmission cooler had been damaged.
