Harford Fair Is Accepting Entries
Submitted by Cindy Reynolds
The school department at the Harford Fair exhibits up to 2,000 items, from all age levels pre-school to twelfth grade. It is an excellent way to exhibit children’s work. Teachers can enter items from their classrooms, home schooled children can enter items, and parents can individually enter items for their children.
Go to the Harford Fair website www.harfordfair.com and click on 2015 School Department Class Listings. Follow the simple rules and directions to set up an account. Even if you entered in the past, you need to set up a new account each year. Once the account is set up, you select the items you are entering in the School House listing which appear. The co-superintendents of that department have reorganized the listing, so be sure to use the 2015 listing only. Also, be sure to choose your school district name for your entries.
When you receive your preprinted tags, add the student’s name on the tag and attach the tag to the upper right hand corner with two staples so it does not come off. Also label all items on the back with the student’s name, teacher’s name, school, and class number it is entered in. In the event that a tag comes off, the school department will still be able to display it correctly and return the item.
July 1 is the deadline for submitting the entry items in the Little Red Schoolhouse. Once you submit your entry blank, the tags for the items will be mailed to you (be sure to list your home address on the entry blank) or you can pick them up at the fair office. Items in the school department must be brought to the fair between 9:00 AM and noon on Saturday, June 13th or Tuesday, July 7th. Annette Brush and Jaimie Himka are the co-superintendents of the department and will be happy to help you with your entries. Their contact information is also on the website if you have questions.
