Philip Titus

Philip K. Titus, 71, of New Milford Twp., PA, passed away, Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Born January 16, 1944 in Brooklyn, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Bernice [Kent] Titus.
Philip served as a Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War. He awarded two purple hearts during his time of service, along with numerous medals and badges. Philip worked for Agway in New Milford for 15 years. He was then employed for 25 years with IBM, Endicott, NY, as a maintenance technician, where he eventually retired.
He was an active member and past Deacon of the First Congregational Church of Harford UCC.
Philip was a hardworking man who loved to spend time with his family. He truly enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's school activities and sporting events. Also, country line dancing with his wife. Philip was a board member with Habitat for Humanity of Susquehanna County, a Susquehanna County 4H leader and also the assistant superintendent in the Floral Department at the Harford Fair along with his wife, JoAnn.
Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnn [Tingley] Titus of New Milford Twp., PA, son & daughter-in-law, Kent & Melanie Titus of Nichols, NY, daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & Charlie Clarkson of Harford, PA, grandchildren, Alyssa, Evan, Eli and Owen, brother & sister-in-law, Randy & Pamela Titus of Kingsley, PA, sister-in-law, Joan Titus of Hornell, NY and several nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Norman Titus. There is no doubt that they greeted him at heavens doors with open arms.

JASON T. YASNOVITCH
Jason T. Yasnovitch, 33, of Harford Township, PA went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2015 after a courageous battle with liver disease. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 11 years, Amie Button Yasnovitch.
He is also survived by his beloved children, Anya and Dimitri; his father, William Yasnovitch; a sister, Joy and Ed Bognatz; three brothers, William and Kathy Matichak Jr., David Matichak, and Brian and Maria Matichak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Eileen Oakley Yasnovitch.
Jason was a machinist at General Dynamics, Eynon, PA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jason was a mentor to his nephews, spending quality time in the woods with them. He became very protective of his nieces and enjoyed their company. He was willing to take the time to teach others what he knew. Jason was devoted to his wife and children and loved them dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Hallstead, PA. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peoples Security Bank and Trust, Yasnovitch Education Fund, P.O. Box A, Hallstead, PA 18822.
Sandra A. Cordner
Sandra A. Cordner, 62, of Montrose, died Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015, at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton. Her husband is Russell Cordner.
Born October 30, 1952 in Susquehanna, daughter of the late Howard and Esther Fisk Cobb. She was a graduate of Susquehanna High School and prior to retirement she worked as a Susquehanna County Corrections Officer. She loved watching the birds and squirrels in her yard and she enjoyed sewing.
Also surviving are two sons, Russell Cordner and companion Lisa Seibert, Manheim; and Jason Cordner and wife Kelly, Montrose; two brothers, Bill Cobb and wife Bonnlyn, SC; and Calvin Cobb and wife Patricia, Thompson; a sister, Sharon Cobb, Allentown, seven grandchildren, Russell, Devin, Claudia, Katarina, Eva, Rylie, and Makayla.
Funeral was held by Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with services by Pastor Phyllis Hunter of the Thompson United Methodist Church. Spring interment in Thompson Cemetery.

Roger N. Getter
Roger N. Getter, 79, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA.
Roger was born in Deposit, NY, on February 17, 1936 the son of the late Leon and Dagmar (Nelson) Getter. He was predeceased by his brother Leonard; brother-in-laws Gary Williams, Philip Medlar and Robert Hayden; mother and father in-law, Frederick and Nellie Medlar.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Naomi Medlar Getter; devoted son Christopher Roger Getter; grandchildren Shane Getter, Ryan Getter, Jennifer Getter, Bryan Getter, Storm Wood, Corey and Elizabeth Wood and Ashlee Getter; great granddaughters Alexis and Kaylah; sister Nancy Hayden; brother Leon and Raelene Getter; in-laws Joyce Troup, Linda Medlar, Gale and Thomas Reddon, Larry and Sandra Medlar and David and Diane Medlar; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roger graduated from Oakland High School in 1953 having grown up in Oakland. He was employed for many years at Haley’s Market and then Rob’s Market in Great Bend, PA until his retirement. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Also, he loved animals and had many pets, in his last years there were “Scamper” and “Jerry”. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Susquehanna, PA where served in several capacities in the past. His loving devotion to family and friends will always be cherished.
A viewing was held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Monday, March 9, 2015.
A Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Susquehanna, PA, on a later date.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA after the Funeral Service.
