Mt. View Counselor Receives Grant

The recipient of the 2014 Teacher Enrichment Grant from Susquehanna Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees is Diana Slick, a K-6 Counselor for at-risk students  in the Mountain View School District.  Her special project is to facilitate the “new experience” of snowshoeing for her students. This program focuses on a healthy, fun, aerobic activity during a time of year when options are sometimes few and far between.  The activity would enhance camaraderie, trust, respect and new learning.

Pictured (l-r) are: Andrew Chichura, Barbara Kelly, Diana Slick, Robert McNamara, and Cindy Reynolds recently gathered at the Mountain View Elementary School to award the enrichment grant. Robert McNamara, President of the Susquehanna Chapter of PASR, presented Mrs. Slick with the grant which she will use to provide her students with a snowshoeing experience.  Absent from the photo is Patricia Arnold who was a member of the selection committee.

On December 12 Andrew Chichura, Barbara Kelly, Robert McNamara and Cindy Reynolds, made the presentation at a meeting with Mrs. Slick and Mrs. Christine Kelly, Mountain View Elementary Principal.
