LORRAINE J. LEWIS
Lorraine J. Lewis, 85, of Hallstead, PA went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2014 due to a year and a half battle with ovarian cancer. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years, James B. Lewis, by her father and mother, Elias and Carrie Cornelius, a grandson, Jeremy Lewis, and a sister, Carol Winnie.
She is survived by 7 children, Jackie and Rick Sands, Lynn Stockholm, Tom and Barb Lewis, Brian and Becky Lewis, Lee and Curt Decker, Charlie Lewis, and Margie Hall; 25 grandchildren, Sean, Courtney, Elizabeth, Richard, Michael, Erika, Stephanie, Jimmy, Chad, Leslie, Matt, Amanda, Micah, Daniel, Carrie, Gina, Felicia, Danielle, Krissy, Jamie, Justine, Dean, Abram, Nate, and Kelly; and 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephew, and extended family members.
Lorraine was born and raised on Long Island, NY, but she lived in northeast PA for most of her adult life, except for 10 years in Charlotte, NC, where she and Jim enjoyed life and traveled a lot. She worked as an administrative assistant for Bendix Corporation in Montrose, PA and also for Magnetic Laboratories in Hallstead, PA. She loved sewing, gardening, and many other crafts. Lorraine was always there to help her children and grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
Lorraine was a devoted member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, New Milford, PA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, New Milford, PA. Interment will be made in New Milford Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Hallstead, PA. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, P.O. JAMES J. MANGEL
James J. Mangel, 60, of Hallstead, PA, formerly of Bradford, PA and Marcellus, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife of 23 years, Kathleen and two precious daughters, Mary Marissa and Emma Marie.
He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd C. and Betty B. Mangel Jr., a nephew, Erik, and a niece, Jodi. Jim is survived by his brothers, Brad and Sally Mangel and Curt Mangel; three sisters, Debbie Garthwaite, Karen and Dave Pascale, Nancy and Jeff Burkett; mother-in-law, Larona O’Connor: sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Zubrowski, Michael and Rhonda O’Connor, and Lee Hobart; his beloved cousin, Christine and Glenn Pritchard; nieces, Roxanne Benjamin, Jessica Burkett, Kara and Stephanie Zubrowski, Danielle Hobart; nephews, Jeremy, Zach, and Jake Garthwaite, Alex Burkett, Josh Hobart, Matt Zubrowski, Paul and Andrew O’Connor.
Jim was the recipient of a miracle when he survived a ruptured aorta on April 1, 2012. He treasured every moment he was given after this with his girls and beloved wife. Jim’s family and friends cherished this additional time as a special gift from God. Jim was humbled by the outpouring of love and support he received.
Jim was a friend to everyone he met. He spent a considerable amount of time mentoring youth and coaching basketball and soccer; including his daughters’ teams. He was an avid sports fan. Go Orangemen!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA. Friends may call from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peoples Security Bank and Trust, Mary and Emma Mangel College Fund, P.O. Box A, Hallstead, PA 18822.
Anna Pagano Melkulcok
Anna Pagano Melkulcok, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Barnes Kasson SNF in Susquehanna, PA.
She was born in Susquehanna, to the late Prospero and Valentina Pagano.
Anna was predeceased by her husband Louis Melkulcok, her daughter Elizabeth Ann Cook, three brothers; Frank, Albino, and Louis Pagano, two sisters Antoinette Houlihan and Camilla Delsandro and a cousin Andrew Yanicelli.
Anna is survived by her son and wife John and Gloria Melkulcok, VA, son-in-law Harold Dick Cook, NY, six grandchildren; Harold and Sherry Cook, Jacqueline Lindsley, John and Wendy Cook, Alanna and Michael Bobulinski, Jeffery and MeLinda Melkulcok, Susanne and Douglas Arnold, twelve great grandchildren; Raymond, Stephen, Ashley, Christine, John, Tyler, Courtney, Kate, Sara, Smantha, Johathan, Abgail, and her special niece Paulette Mayhew and nephew Gene Delsandro, also many other nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Matis Manufacturing of Susquehanna. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Post #86 Auxiliary and the Susquehanna Fireman Auxiliary.
A mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, on Saturday, November 29, 2014, with Rev. David Cramer officiating.
Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA or the Susquehanna Fire Department, PO Box 175, Susquehanna, PA.
