Annual Harvest Festival Planned

The Friends of Susquehanna County, Inc. is busy preparing for the Annual Harvest Festival, set for Saturday, September 13, 8 am to 2 pm, at the Colonial Brick Inn & Suites, Hallstead, PA. The event is held each year to benefit non-profit organizations located in Susquehanna County, PA. The Friends donated $19,000 in 2013 to area groups in need, including food pantries, Susquehanna County Interfaith, NEPA Health Care Center, Women’s Resource Center, Susquehanna County Area Agency on Aging, Susquehanna and Hallstead branches of the Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free Library Association, and many others. The group also presents a Volunteer Scholarship Award to a graduating senior from each of Susquehanna County, PA’s, six school districts. The award is based on the senior’s dedication to volunteerism.

Pictured are Friends of Susquehanna County, Inc. surrounding Chairman Doreen Dubik (seated, center) as she presents the 2014 Harvest Festival poster.

The September 13 event has something for everyone; rummage sales, vendors, garden harvest, baked goods, and refreshments. DJ Mama Bullmoose provides a musical background. Raffle tickets for over 25 baskets, in a varied range of themes, will be offered at the Harvest Festival. Tickets can also be purchased on August 16 and 30 at Rob’s Country Market in Hallstead and Schneider’s Market in Susquehanna from 9 am to 2 pm.

There’s still room for more vendors. Contact Mary Lee Dayton at (570) 879-4149 for information.
