Amy L. Holmes, 52, of Ararat Twp., died Friday February 28 at home after an illness.

She was the wife of Sam Holmes.

Born in Carbondale she was the daughter of Shirley Barnes Wademan, Ararat Twp and the late Clarence "Dick" Wademan.

She was a graduate of Susquehanna Community High School. She was employed as a cook for the Lakewood Lodge and before that was a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Also surviving are 2 sons Matthew Holmes, Ararat Twp and Steven Holmes and his wife Jessica, Virginia Beach VA; 3 brothers James Wademan, Stevens Point , Richard Wademan, Thompson; and Nathan Wademan, Ararat Twp. 2 grand children Riley Marvin, and Brooke Holmes, and her mother-in-law Frances Holmes, Morava, NY and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson Easton Samuel Holmes.

Private funeral services were held. Spring interment will be held in the East Ararat Cemetery.
