Keden Myles Chapman is pleased to announce the engagement of his parents, Misty Karhnak and Kevin Chapman, of Brooklyn, PA.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Marcia Karhnak and significant other, John Schell of Springville. She is a graduate of Mountain View High School and is currently attending Keystone College working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is employed by Susquehanna County as a second deputy in the Prothonotary’s office.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Maureen and Pat Rafferty, of Nicholson and Ken Chapman and significant other, Bernadett Rock of Delaware. He is a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and has earned a certification in high performance engines and chassis fabrication from Wyoming Technical Institute. He is employed as an A.S.E. certified master automotive technician at Clarks Garage in Factoryville.
A summer wedding is planned.
Miss Kasandra Elaine Metcalf, age 16, daughter of Robin and Stephen Metcalf, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Pennsylvania Pagent to be held August 11, 2013 at the beautiful Hillton Harrisburg & Towers in Harrisburg. The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Kasandra will be participating in the 16-18 division, along with other outstanding young ladies from across the great state of Pennsylvania.
The winner of the Pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California where she will receive an exciting complimentary Tour of Hollywood and two V.I.P. tickets to Disneyland.
The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills. Each year the pageant nationally awards 1.5 million dollars in cash, scholarships and other prizes, which includes a New Ford Mustang Convertible.
The National American Miss Pageants are unlike any other. All activities and competitions are kept age appropriate. Girls under the age of 12 are not allowed to wear make-up, and there is no swimsuit competition. The Pageant program is based on inner-beauty, as well as poise and presentation, and offers an “All-American spirit of fun for family and friends.” Emphasis is put on the importance of accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for her future.

Carrie Ann Sobolak and Thomas John Drake were married Sunday, March 24, 2013 at The Calkins Union Baptist Church in Milanville, PA.
The bride is the daughter of the late Ronald Sobolak, Barbara VanOrden, and step-father, Steve VanOrden of Milanville, PA. The groom is the son of John and Vicki Drake of New Milford, PA.
Pastor Lane Jones performed the double-ring ceremony. Katie Kingston, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Amanda Sobolak, Stephanie MacMullen, Illiana Ponce and Katherine Orth. Tyler Drake, brother of the groom, was best man. The groomsmen were Erick Stone, Stephen Berg, Daniel Weber and Matthew Galloway. Andrew Stone, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer. A reception followed at The Raddison Hotel in Scranton, PA.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Honesdale High School and a 2012 graduate of Bob Jones University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is employed by Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Blue Ridge High School and a 2012 graduate of Bob Jones University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. He is also employed by Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana and they reside in New Milford, PA.
