ALBERT L. CARR

Albert L. Carr, 72, of Hallstead, PA went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2012 after many years battling cancer and several other ailments. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Audrey.

He is also survived by his children, Corina and Tom Beames, Anthony and Cathy Carr, Alan and Joann Carr, Jason and Angela Benedict, and Jeremy and Crystol Benedict; eight grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Wanda and Jack Cressman; sisters-in-law, Meg and Leo Sargent, Linda and Jim Wellman, and Sue and Tony Harvatine; father-in-law George Kenyon and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Carr.

Al was employed with Van Atta Buick, Vestal, NY for 34 years. He truly enjoyed working on cars, especially antique and classic cars, like his ’67 Buick GS400. Al liked watching old western movies, caring for the birds, and attending several car shows throughout the years.

The family greatly appreciates Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton General Hospital, and Barnes-Kasson Home Health Care for the compassionate care they extended to Al.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Inurnment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 3-4 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Great Bend Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance, 200 Carroll Street, Great Bend, PA 18821.

Raymond R. Haynes Sr.

Raymond R. Haynes Sr. 68, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the Geisinger Wyoming Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Sadie (Hallstead) Haynes Sr.; his wife Theresa J. Haynes, and his brother Clifford Haynes Jr.

Raymond was survived by his one son Raymond Haynes Jr.; three sisters Jennifer Haynes, Patty Scro, and Sarah Dean; his two sisters Sylvia Ewain and Grace Lackey; four grandchildren Tristan, Heather, Brian, and Nicholas; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 11:00 am with Rec. Carl Batzel officiating.

Burial will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 10 to 11am.

BEVERLY A. HOUGHTON

Beverly A. Houghton, 68, formerly of New Milford, PA, passed away December 7, 2012. Beverly was born October 27, 1944 to Sydney Wilding and Marjorie (Palfrey) Wilding in Jersey City, NJ, and lived in the New Milford area the majority of her life. She worked for GMAC in Binghamton, NY before marrying George F. Houghton, with whom she had two children. Besides being a wonderful Mother and homemaker, she worked for seventeen years at Saint John the Evangelist School in Binghamton, then as a housekeeper for hotels in New Milford, State College and Milesburg, PA. She is well known for her homemade bread and sticky buns, crocheted and knitted blankets, hats and sweaters, as well as her sewing creations and braided rugs. She was an avid gardener and loved her daffodils, lilies, pumpkins and tomatoes. She will also be remembered for her outspoken political views.

She is survived by her children, son Scott E. Houghton, of Starrucca, PA and his sons, Cody, Morgan and Willie, and daughter and son-in-law, Sydney Kathleen M. and Jeremy L. Brown, of Port Matilda, PA. She was preceeded in death by her Mother and Father, as well as George F. Houghton, her husband of 39 years.

At Beverly’s request, there will be no public memorial service. LLOYD W. MARVIN

Lloyd W. Marvin, 65, of Hallstead, PA went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents Floyd C. and Marian M. Roche Marvin and a son, Lloyd W. Marvin, Jr.

He is survived by three children, Kerri Anne Marvin and fiancé Lawrence O. Travis, Jason William and Danielle Marie Marvin, and Robert James Marvin and fiancée Christie Hurlburt; five grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, Rhaya, Colton, and Michael; his twin brother, Floyd and Robin Marvin; a brother Jerry Marvin; a sister, Debbie Marvin; and several nieces and nephews.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a lineman with NYSEG for 33 years. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, writing, and antiquing. He could often be found very early in the morning having coffee with his brothers and friends. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren. Lloyd will be dearly missed and always remembered by his friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Spring inurnment will be made in the North Jackson Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1100 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13210.

Marian Sellitto

Marian Sellitto, 88, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, of Harrisburg, and formerly York, and Susquehanna, PA where she resided most of her life. She lived with and has been lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter for the last 6 years of her life. Born September 9, 1924 in Forest City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michelina and William Miliauskas; and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sellitto; her infant son, Ralph Sellitto Jr.; her sisters, Jean Shalna and Aldona Bagniewski; and her brother, Joseph Miles.

Surviving is her daughter, Michele (DeSera Bortner) Sellitto, of Harrisburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Debbie Sellitto, of North Huntingdon, PA; her grandson, Scott Sellitto; her sisters, Veronica Kucnsky, of Avello, PA, and Cecilia Barechio, of Susquehanna, PA; and her special nieces, Stephanie Marshall D’Argenio and Shelley Marshall Doyle, both of Yardley, PA.

Marian was a member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg and formerly St. John’s Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA.

Marian met her husband Ralph at age 14, and married October 23, 1946 until his death in 1990. She was an Honors Graduate of Forest City High School, Class of 1942, a homemaker and member of the Susquehanna Borough Council for 6 years, and Democratic Committee Woman for Susquehanna Borough. She was a member of the Susquehanna County Democratic Women’s Club, York County Democratic Women’s Club and Tri-County Democratic Women’s Club.

A viewing was held Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, December 28, 2012, from the Parish of St. Patrick Cathedral, 212 State St. Harrisburg, PA.

Graveside service was held Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Forest City, PA.

MARION J. SMITH

Marion J. Smith, 96, of Hallstead, PA went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2012. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Perry. They were married on December 17, 1941, ten days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Marion is survived by her children, Carolyn Kundrata, Windsor, NY, Jean and Thomas Brink, Clarks Summit, PA, and John and Cecilia Smith, Binghamton, NY; six grandchildren, Dennis, Dean, and Darren Kundrata, Lori and Stuart Pollack, Michael and Cindy Brink, and Jason Smith; nine great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Dillon Kundrata, Tyler Kundrata, Christina Chermak, Brittney and Brad Brink, Samantha, Melissa, and Breonna Pollack; one great great grandchild, Aidan Megivern; three brothers-in-law, Robert, Charles, and James and Lorraine Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Helen Baglino. Marion was a graduate of Hallstead High School and the Ridley Lowell School of Business. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several years prior to the beginning of her family.

Marion was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hallstead, PA since she was a young girl. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and cherished by her family. Marion was the host for Christmas time celebrations for her family, until she was 95. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, especially her red geraniums.

A funeral was held Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, Pine Street, Hallstead, PA. Spring interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, P.O. Box 1952, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1952.

Donna Kay Warren

Donna Warren, 55, of Harford, PA earned her wings, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Born February 8, 1957 in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Janet [Miller] Eucker.

She was a homemaker and loved caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, gardening, music, traveling to New York, lunch dates with her best friends, taking walks and enjoying life.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved. A special thank you to her oncologist and faithful friend Dr. Jonathon Kloss, Dr. Janet Muhich, Lourdes Oncology and Lourdes ICU staff.

Surviving is the love of her life, Dennis W. Warren, daughters & sons-in-law, Sarah & Shawn Krause, Amanda & Bill Jenkins, Heather Warren, a grandson, the light of her life and best friend, Kurtis Jenkins, siblings & their spouses, Michael, Sue, April, Carrie, William III, David & Daniel, several nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt & uncle, mother-in-law, Maureen Warren, brother-in-law, Nelson Warren and her two dogs, Sandy & Buddy Warren.
