“Night of the Father’s Love” will be this year’s Christmas Musical Celebration presented at the Thompson United Methodist Church.

The Cantata, which was composed by Pepper Choplin expresses all the glory of the Christmas Season in song and narration, will be directed by Brenda Tiffany with the piano accompaniment of Jeffrey Keyes.

The “Coming of the Lord” is the opening piece and is filled with excitement and energy. Other pieces are Waiting, Angels Are Making Their Rounds, Night of the Father’s Love, The Shepherds Song, Seeking the King, Fall on Your Knees and Christ is Born, Nowell!

The Community Choir, which is comprised of voices from several different denominational Churches in Susquehanna and Wayne Counties, began their practice for this event in the beginning of October, and have been practicing two days a week. The devotion and comradary among members to present this Cantata as a Christmas gift to the community is truly an inspiration.

The cantata will be presented on Sunday, December 2, at 2:00 PM. As in years past, refreshments will be served for everyone’s enjoyment following the program and all are welcome.
