Civil War Echo At Old Mill Village

The thunder of cannons and the rattle of musketry will echo in the valley at Old Mill Village once again as the museum hosts its annual Civil War Days on October 6 and 7, from noon to 5 p.m.

Camps of Union and Confederate forces, as well as civilian reenactors will occupy the Village and be open to visitors throughout both days. Visitors will also be able to see demonstrations of 19th century crafts and trades, such as wool spinning, soap making, and blacksmithing. The Village buildings will be open for public viewing as well. Souvenirs, crafts, old-fashioned candy and soda is available to purchase in the Village Mercantile, and meals are served in the Wooden Spoon.

The highlight of each day’s activities will be a battle reenactment, scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Old Mill Village is located one mile outside of New Milford on Route 848. For more information, contact Tim Button: 570-434-3353.
