FRANCES M. BENEDICT
Frances M. Benedict, 82, of Hallstead, PA, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Walter E. Benedict.
Also surviving are her children, Raymond and Elizabeth Jennings, Great Bend, PA, and Christine and Larry Cianfriglia, Endicott, NY; two step children, Thomas and Tajana Benedict and Amanda Edwards; four grandchildren, Brett and Bart Jennings, Beth Ashman, and Stephanie Cianfriglia; four step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Perry; two sisters-in-law, Janet Walker and Junita Zimcock; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved feline companion, Molly.
Frances was self employed for many years. She enjoyed her vacations to Cape May, NJ, her flower and vegetable gardens, and was an animal lover, owning many dogs and cats over the years. Frances took great pleasure in her grandchildren, shopping for them, caring for them, and their overnight visits.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11, Friday, prior to the service. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Great Bend/Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. DAVID C. CANFIELD
David C. Canfield, 63, of New Milford, PA passed away on July 21, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Alice.
Also surviving are his children, Todd Donohue, New Milford, PA, Lee Canfield, Montrose, PA, Jennifer Andrejack, Montrose, PA; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Cecil and Bert; three sisters, Helen, Sue, and Paulette; several nieces and nephews.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He was self employed as a logger, a stone cutter, and seasonally employed with Hilltop Blueberry Farm. Dave enjoyed going camping in the cabin on the mountain in Forkston, PA and watching the bears.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in the New Milford Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Columbia Hose Company No. 1, P.O. Box 599, New Milford, PA 18834.
Joanne Petriello
Joanne Petriello, 55, of Ararat, Pa. passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at home after an illness.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, who through good and bad times loved Joanne very much, children Vincent, Vera, Angela and James; grandson Tyler and granddaughter Maya.
Joanne was a wonderful mother to her children. She raised goats for milk, had a big garden and horses for the children when she was well. The last 5 years she suffered terribly with rheumatoid arthritis and was home bound.
She was a member of the St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, Pa. and she always believed in her lord, who she is with now.
A memorial mass was held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna with Rev. David Cramer officiating.
Lenton Bryce Stone
A little miracle was born on June 7, 2012, named Lenton Bryce Stone. He came into this world too early and left it far too soon on July 16, 2012. Lenton brought such intense joy to his parents and every day was a blessing. Lenton is the son of Loren and Nicole Stone of Thompson. Lenton’s grandparents are John and Charlotte Stone of Thompson and Monroe Neidig of Jonestown. Lenton’s great grandmother is Florence Stone and great grandfather is Fred Williams, both of Thompson. Aunts and uncles include Bronson & Tammy Stone, Steffin & Paula Stone, Abralyn Weidow, Gafston Stone, Paul and Crystal Snyder, and John and Ginger Troxell. Lenton has many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends. Although many of them never met him, he is loved by them all. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice Neidig and his uncle Jassmond Stone.
A viewing was held on Friday, July 20th at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Avenue, Susquehanna, PA. The funeral service was held at the Thompson United Methodist Church, Thompson, PA. Interment at the Ararat Cemetery.
