SHAREL L. RHONE

Sharel Rhone, 66, of Starrucca, PA, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Lourdes Hospital, after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was born in Starrucca, PA the daughter of the late Wendell and Marguerieta Swartz. She is predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Orson and Geneva Rhone and a special nephew Allan Swartz.

Sharel is survived by her husband Fredrick R. Rhone; 8 children (5 daughters and 3 sons) Brian and JoAnn Rhone, Holly and Thomas Kubus, Dale and Tara Rhone, Dean and April Rhone, Renee and Tim Hall, Lesley Rhone, Katrina and Rex Colwell, and Erin and Scott Carmody; 21 grandchildren, Timothy and Dylan Haynes, Marah, Adam, Micaela, Miranda, Morgan, Haley, McKenzie, and Payton Rhone, Lewis and Patrick Hall, Kendra and Kambrie Colwell, Hayden, Rory and Kyleaha Carmody, Heather, Tommy and Nathan Kubus, and Bethanie Spang; and one great grandson Aiden Spang; 2 brothers, Kent and JoAnne Swartz, Mark and Joan Swartz; 4 sisters, Shelia and Jim Sullivan, Sharon and Keith Terwilliger, Shelley and Sam Allegrino, and Sherri and Mark Glover; Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Kirk and Alice Rhone, Laverne Rhone, Sue Ellen and Mason Evans, and Jeanine and Randy Glover; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharel was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who held a special bond with each of her grandchildren. Even though being ill she still managed to be courageous and keep her hope alive. One of her favorite hobbies was sewing which led to her making quilts for her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends who loved her so deeply.

A funeral service was held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA 18847, on Friday, March 16, 2012.

Burial was held in the Starrucca Cemetery, Starrucca, PA.

FRANK G. KAVETSKI, III

Frank G. Kavetski, III, age 68, of Gibson, passed away Saturday morning, March 17, 2012, at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, the former Sharon Brown.

Born August 9, 1943 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Kavetski-Gasper.

Frank was the owner and operator of Kavetski Construction for forty five years. He was an member of the Sea Scouts and enjoyed year round camping with them. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed many years of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with family and friends. Frank was a member of the Mountain View School Board in the 80's. He took great pleasure in gardening and driving his corvette. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Terry Kavetski and wife Melanie of Gibson, PA and Martin Kavetski and Dawn Kavetski of Gibson, PA; the loves of his life - grandson, Bradley Kavetski of SC and granddaughter, Shannon Kavetski of Gibson, PA, and dog Ginger; one sister, Patricia Brown and husband Larry of Harford, PA; two sisters-in-law, Helen Hanf of Kingsley, PA and Carol Robinson and husband Roger of Elkton, MD; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Kavetski.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, March 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the South Gibson United Methodist Church, celebrated by Rev. Vickie Maxon, pastor. Inurnment to follow at Harford Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, and Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.

WILLIS “BILL” E. ROOSA

Willis “Bill” E. Roosa, 82 of Hallstead, PA passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by the love of his life and devoted wife of 54 years, Bonnie Roosa, on March 16, 2007. He was also predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Ida Roosa and his sister, Jean Cushman.

Bill is survived by his children, Bryan and Candy Roosa, Susquehanna, PA, David Roosa, Hallstead, PA, Bonnie and David Bothell, Ocoee, FL, and Jay Roosa, Orlando, FL; his brother, Laurence Osterhout; two sisters, Joan and Walter Jones and Leah Wooster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alden “Ike” Armstrong and Keith and Dorothy Armstrong; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Kristopher, Bradley and Erin Roosa, Heath, Robin, and Arden Bothell; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill retired from Sage Supply Company in 1994 as the water pump and well supply division manager after 37 years of service. He was highly respected in his field of work. He was a member of the Franklin Hill Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed the people and the time that he was able to spend there. He was always full of energy and active with various projects to keep busy. He was a wonderful, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had many friends and always had a story to tell whether it was about local history from being a lifelong Hallstead resident, hunting or family history that started with his ancestors arriving in America on a ship called “The Spotted Cow” in 1653. He will be deeply missed but has now joined his love, Bonnie, who he missed so dearly and will be with us in our hearts forever. His children would like to extend a special and sincere thank you to all of the nurses, aides, and staff of the UHS, Wilson Regional Medical Center, South Tower, 5th floor unit who provided Bill with excellent, kind, and gentle care in the last two weeks of life.

A funeral service will be held at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Travis officiating. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the Franklin Hill Presbyterian Church, 706 SR1018, Franklin Hill Road, Hallstead, PA 18822.
