Memorial services with military honors for James J. Craft will be held at 1 p.m. December 29, 2011 at the National Cremation and Burial Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, Fla., 32765.
Mr. Craft, 67, died December 15, 2011 in Orlando. He had been ill for a number of months.
He was born July 12, 1944, in Susquehanna, a son of the late Helen and Kenneth J. “Red” Craft, and graduated from Susquehanna Consolidated High School in 1962. He retired in 1983 from the U.S. Air Force after serving more than 20 years, including duty in Vietnam. The Crafts lived for many years on Jackson Avenue, and were members of the First Baptist Church in Susquehanna. Mr. Craft lived in the Pensacola/Orlando area for the past 25 years.
He was an avid fisherman, camper, traveler, and motorcyclist, and did all those activities with his children. In the early 1980s he and his son, Ben, toured the East Coast from Florida to Canada and back on motorcycles. He also was an NASCAR racing fan.
Mr. Craft is survived by a daughter, Michelle I. Geimer and her husband Jerry Geimer, Orlando; two grandchildren, Tyler James Geimer and Amber N. Geimer, Orlando (pictured with James above); a son, Benjamin James Craft, Orlando; a sister, Connie D. Mixson, Asheville, N.C., a nephew, and several nieces and cousins.
Mr. Craft also is survived by his former wife, Barbara J. “Bobbie” Yeager, Orlando. She remained by his side through much of his illness.
