DARRELL L. ENGLEHART

Darrell L. Englehart, 73, of Schoharie, NY (formerly of Susquehanna, PA and Endicott, NY) died October 18, 2011 after a long illness.

He was born and grew up in Susquehanna. He graduated from Susquehanna High School and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the US Army in Germany and served in the Air National Guard for 22 years. He retired from General Electric in 1991 after 33 years of employment and was very active in his community as a member of the honor guard of the American Legion and as an officer in the local Elks Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, cars, painting county historical markers and fire hydrants and spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ferne and John Englehart; and his brothers, Dale and Doyle. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane; son Duane (Nancy); daughter Lisa (James) Wolcott; granddaughters Erin and Katherine; sisters-in-law Joan (Dale) Englehart, Sandra Lee (Doyle) Englehart and Jennien (Joe) Thompson; brother-in-law Geno (Delores) Millazzo and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Schoharie area on October 22, 2011 and burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Schoharie.

LILLA M. “LEE” ROMOND

Lilla M. “Lee” Romond, 93, of Gibson Township, PA entered into rest peacefully at home, finally reunited with husband Gene, on November 9, 2011. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, in February 1999 and a daughter, Kathe Meglathery in October 2008.

Lee is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann diPalma, Gibson, PA and Dr. Donna and Eric Oberer, Colts Neck, NJ; a son-in-law, Paul Meglathery; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Lee was an accomplished wood carver with an exceptional talent. She was also known for her quilts, embroidery and needle work. Lee was active in Girl Scouting, serving in a number of positions through the years. She was employed with the Ledgewood Drive-In Theater, Ledgewood, NJ, working as a cashier and bookkeeper along side of her husband, retiring in 1980. She and Gene moved to Gibson in 1981 from Denville, NJ. Gene and Lee adored each other. Working well together, they completely restored a pre-civil war house. They were soulmates.
