Harold E. Lynch, 81, a resident of Barnes Kasson Hospital SNF, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born on January 2, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Irene (Conrow) Lynch.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Irene, Geraldine and Patricia; and one brother Donald.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet (Whitmore) Lynch. Also surviving are his children, Sharon Manzer, of Hallstead, PA, Steve and Trish Lynch, of Susquehanna, PA, John and Chris Lynch, of Scranton, PA, Russell and Ruth Lynch, of Susquehanna, PA; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother Richard.
Harold served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Stow Manufacturing after over 30 years of service.
At Harold’s request there was a graveside service at the North Jackson Cemetery, on Saturday, October, 15, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in honor of Harold’s memory.
Joseph J. Krupovich, 70, of Clifford Township, PA, died Monday afternoon, October 10, 2011, at the Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice, Scranton. His wife is the former Caroline Lavriha. They would have celebrated 41 years of marriage on October 31, 2011.
Born May 4, 1941 in Peckville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Venosh) Krupovich.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Forest City and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was a sharp shooter and expert marksman. He was owner operator of Joe Krupovich Trucking for over 30 years along with being a well known auto mechanic in the area.
He was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic cars. He was always there to lend a helping hand to others with nothing expected in return. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all of the staff, especially Greg, at the Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice of Scranton and Northeast Regional Oncology Center, Dunmore.
He is survived by one daughter, Lynn Krupovich-Moran of Clarks Summit, PA; two sons, Joseph Krupovich, Jr. and wife Carrie of Clarks Summit, PA and Ryan Krupovich and wife Christie of Gibson, PA; two grandsons, Dylan and Colin Moran both of Clarks Summit, PA; three sisters, Patricia Fenton of Sturges, PA, Ann Bryla of Montdale, PA and Beatrice Swingle of Mayfield, PA; four brothers, John, Robert and James Krupovich all of Eynon, PA and Frank Krupovich of Lake Henry, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday, October 14, 2011, from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 612 Hudson Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Patrick L. Albert, pastor. Interment with military honors, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.

ROBERT J. PARKINSON
Robert J. Parkinson, 88, of Susquehanna, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the Barnes Kasson SNF in Susquehanna, PA.
Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Tillie Ann Parkinson in 1997; his two brothers Sam and Edward Parkinson; and one sister Mary Parkinson.
He is survived by his three sons Robert, Edward, and Brian Parkinson; one daughter Dorothy Parkinson; one brother John Parkinson; three grandchildren, Joann, Marie, and Sarah Parkinson; and two great grandchildren, Zachary and Alex.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy Amphibian Forces for 4 years during WWII, including participating in the D-Day invasion. Robert retired as a police captain for the city of Newark NJ, and then went on to work for the U.S. Postal service in Susquehanna, PA as a rural mail carrier until his final retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed golfing, his grandchildren, and coffee downtown (Susquehanna) with his friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. David Betts officiating.
Burial was held in the Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, in Simpson, PA.
