In September of 2008, the ecumenical community vesper service began at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Montrose, PA as a way to invite people of all faiths to an ecumenical service. The vesper service is conducted by lay persons from the Montrose area churches. The laity serves as worship leaders and greeters. Local musicians provide appropriate meditative musical selections, joining in setting the quiet tone for the end of the day program. The vesper service begins with the singing of a hymn, followed by lighting of the vesper candle. Each service ends with the singing of “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
All are welcome on this special day to remember the victims and those who miss them, as well as the rescue workers and all responders. Please join St. Paul’s for this special service.
