DARLEEN D. SHOLTISS

God received another angel on Sunday, April 3, 2011 when Darleen D. Sholtiss, of Hickory Grove, PA, passed away unexpectedly. She was a wonderful, loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased by her sister Cindy Lee Chelewiski.

Darleen is survived by her husband John H. Sholtiss of Hickory Grove, PA; mother Irma Crissell of Susquehanna; 3 daughters Natalie A. Mayle of Binghamton, NY; Ashley E. Pudish of Susquehanna; and Lacey Sholtiss of Hickory Grove; 7 sisters Sylvia Hodges of Tremonton, Utah, Wendy Wahl of Hancock, NY, Jennifer Groover of Susquehanna, Denise Gates of New Milford, PA, Tammy Allen of Susquehanna, Heidi Lesko of Lanesboro, PA, and Tonya Gerhardt of New Milford; and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving grandmother of two grandsons Cason A. Pudish and Kai C. Thompson of Susquehanna.

She worked side by side with her husband John at their J & J Garden Center in Hickory Grove for the past 20 years. Darleen was a very active member of society. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and participated in both the Ladies and Couples golf league at Lake Loraine Golf Course.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Any donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

RONALD C. FISHER

Ronald C. Fisher, 88, of Hallstead, PA went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2011 in Ashton Health Care. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor “Kewpie” Fisher.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Ronnie and Barb Fisher, Connie and Jack Margets, Donnie and Susan Fisher, Lonnie and Lori Fisher, and Bonnie Gordon and Fred Stanton; grandchildren, Nichole and Cortney Gordon, Ryan Fisher and Fiancée Aubrey Kozak, Tiffany and Andrew Pavlik, Darci Margets, Bradley Fisher, and Stephanie Fisher; a sister, Claire Brant; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Barnard, Bessie Crook, and Josephine Smith; and brothers, Miles Fisher and Paul Fisher.

Ronnie retired from Erie Lackawanna/Conrail Railroad as a railroad engineer. He served with the United States Army during WWII and received a Bronze Star in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #6223 and the American Legion Post #357.

Ronnie loved his grandchildren very much. He enjoyed cutting firewood and working on small engines.

A memorial service was held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA. Spring inurnment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the United Methodist Community Church, 506 Main Street, Great Bend, PA, 18821.

LYNN K. CAFARO

Lynn K. Cafaro, 60, of Thompson, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY. She was predeceased by her mother Katherine Marinello; grandsons Jonathan and Anthony; and a niece Dawn.

Lynn is survived by her father Paul Marinello; her companion Edward Schaurer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Angela Cafaro, Joseph and Cassandra Staria; daughter Nicole Marinello; brother Robert Stenek; sister Paula Marinello; seven grandchildren, Olivia Marinello, Paul and Angelika Cafaro, Joseph, Zachary and Drake Staria, and one on the way Adalynn Staria; several nieces, nephews and cousins and an outstanding amount of friends.

She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and horseback riding and lived life to the fullest. Lynn was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.

Arrangements are being made by the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, PA.
