Obituaries

BARRY T. HALL

Barry T. Hall, of Tucson, AZ, entered into rest on February 2, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He is the son of Millard Hall and the late Helen Squires Hall.

Barry is survived by his step mother, Pamela Hall; a brother David and Christine Hall; two sisters, Amy and David Steinberg and Susan Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

Barry served with the United States Coast Guard for four years. He was Senior Officer and Skipper of Sea Scouts, Ship 90, New Milford for many years. He taught piano lessons, offered his skills for the First Baptist Church services, and lead the church choir.

Barry was employed with the Endless Mountains Health Systems as a registered nurse, prior to employment in Tucson, AZ.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday February 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, New Milford, PA. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home.

Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 193, New Milford, PA 18834.

MADELINE D. THORN

Madeline D. Thorn, 84, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at her home after an illness.

Madeline was predeceased by her parents Fred and Flossie VonBergen and loving husband George Thorn.

She is survived by her one son Randy Thorn and companion Bruce Wharton of Scranton, PA; three daughters and son-in-laws, Marilyn and Tim Tompkins of Lanesboro, PA, June and Norm Mead of Ellaville, GA, and Penny and Dean Stalker of Port Orange, FL; five grandchildren, Terry and Ed Hudon, Sue and Gerald Smith, Tammy Mead, Todd and Lori Mead, and Ryan Stalker; great grandchildren, Joshua, Aiden, and Faith Hudon, Matthew and Ethan Smith, and precious baby Mead due to arrive September 18, 2011; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Madeline was a member of the Ararat United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the Church. She was retired from the Barnes Kasson Hospital where she worked in the Dietary Department for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Funeral Service was held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at the United Methodist Church of Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. James Rouse officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date in the Ararat Cemetery, Ararat, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady Lourdes Hospice or Danielle House of Binghamton, NY.
