LYNNIE A. (KUHN) FRENCH

Lynnie A. (Kuhn) French, 85, of Susquehanna, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

Lynnie was born in Stevens Point, PA, on April 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Martin and Myra Kuhn.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Donald Kuhn, Thomas Kuhn, Hattie Glover, Irene French, Marjorie Barton and Isabel Gordon.

Lynnie is survived by her children, Darlene and Douglas Slocum, Ruth and Joseph Burke, Larry and Margie French; her grandchildren, Chris and Brooke Slocum, Joe and Michelle Burke, Sean and Kim Burke, Tara and Doug Ruckle, Austin and Corbin French; great grandchildren, Ava Slocum, Christian, Joseph, Jordan and Kiera Burke, Nolan and Izzy Ruckle; and a brother-in-law, Earl French. She had special caregivers at the end of her life, Raymond and Frances Rudolph and the caring staff of Barnes Kasson SNF.

Lynnie was a devoted employee of Matis Mfg., Marni’s and the Town Restaurant. She was a member of the American Legion Post #86 Auxiliary, Susquehanna Fire Department Auxiliary and Barnes Kasson Volunteer. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Oakland Park Recreation.

Lynnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle giving spirit and strong faith. Her legacy of a close family will be passed on to future generations.

A celebration of her life was held on Friday, December 31, 2010, at the United Methodist Church, Main St., Susquehanna, with the Rev. James Rouse and Rev. Donald Littleton officiating.

Burial was in the Lanesboro Cemetery, Lanesboro, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, or Oakland Borough Park & Recreation.
