PHILENE E. EDWARDS

Philene E. Edwards, 79, of Binghamton, NY passed away Saturday August 14, 2010 at the Binghamton General Hospital after a brief illness.

Philene was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Edwards; and her brother Donald E. Edwards.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Eva Edwards of Hornell, NY; her nephew Donald R. Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; and her niece Deborah Edwards Falci of Hornell, NY.

Philene was a member of the United Methodist Church of Susquehanna, PA. She worked for 36 years as a secretary with Link/Singer Division in Binghamton. While there she received several professional acknowledgments including certification of completing the Link Management Excellence Program, recognition for contributing to the MV-22A Proposal flight simulation and becoming a member of the Link Division 25 year Club. Philene will be fondly remembered by her friends and family as one who loved to travel and enjoyed life. At home she enjoyed her crafts and fun times with her cats.

A funeral service was held on Monday, August 23 at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave, Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. James Rouse officiating.

Burial was in the North Jackson Cemetery in North Jackson, PA.
