SHEILA N. (WELCH) HAMBY

Sheila N. (Welch) Hamby, 64 of Cherry Ridge and formerly of White Mills, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Mercy Hospital Hospice after a courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She is survived by her fiancée Rodney Sinova of Cherry Ridge.

Born June 11, 1945 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Bayless Welch. She worked in housekeeping at Tanglwood Resorts. After retiring, she enjoyed bird watching, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known as a giving person all her life.

Also surviving are her daughters Emily (Myskiew) Babyak and husband Greg of Tafton and Carey Hamby of Hawley; her six sisters Mary Roberta Welch of Conklin, NY, Patricia Barnes of Susquehanna, PA, Joan Ksenich and husband Charles of Union Dale, Peggy Soden and husband David of Starrucca, Connie Gawron and husband John of Susquehanna, PA and Michele Lankford and husband Gary of Susquehanna, PA; her two brothers Robert Welch and Gerald Welch and wife Sylvia all of Florida; a former sister-in-law Juanita; grandchildren Alec, Corbin and Madyson Babyak; and several nieces and nephews.

A Blessing Service was held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale. Interment followed in Darling Cemetery in Cherry Ridge. Condolences can be made at www.hesslingfuneralhome.com.

CONNIE BEDFORD MARX

Connie Bedford Marx, 37 of Bethel Hill Road, Susquehanna, PA, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home.

Connie was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Sterling and Marion Bedford Burman.

She was born in Susquehanna, PA, the daughter of Gerald and Linda Bedford.

She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Marx; her two sisters and brother-in-law Holly Bedford and Amy and Art Barnes; one sister-in-law Lori Marx; a very special niece Baily Barnes; mother and father-in-law Peter and Jean Marx; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Connie was employed at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital for many years.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. James Rouse and Rev. Keith Albee officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose ASPCA.
