LINDA BUTTS FASSETT

Linda Butts Fassett, age 64, passed away June 29, 2009 peacefully with her husband and family by her side.

She is survived by her husband, Albert, of 42 years; two daughters and four grandchildren; also brothers and sisters who loved her very much: Kathy and Cal Orly, New Milford; Robin Butts, Hallstead; Cheryl and Terry Fisher, Florida; John and Carrie Butts, New Milford; Jackie and Bob Wade, Thompson; Charles Butts, Hallstead; Louis Butts, Hallstead; Lee Ann and Keith Hettis, Hallstead; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born and raised in Stevens Point. She was a member of Stevens Point Methodist Church.

Private memorial services were held at the Home of her sister Lee Ann with family. She loved the outdoors, her flowers and family gatherings. She loved fishing and camping.

She will be missed greatly.

RONALD W. SLAMAS

Ronald W. Slamas, age 54, of Nicholson died Saturday at the VNA Hospice, Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born July 28, 1955 in Scranton, he is the son of Helen Sanauskas Slamas of Nicholson and the late Benjamin Slamas.

He was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and was employed by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad & Conrail.

Also surviving are two sons Adam and Nathan of Kingston, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

It was Ron’s wishes that there be no services.

Cremation RH Jones Crematory, Tunkhannock.

Arrangements by the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St. Nicholson.

JEAN M. BARTON

Jean “OMA” M. Barton, 81, resided at Foxton Lake, Susquehanna, PA and Lady Lake, FL, went to be with the Lord on Friday July 3, 2009 at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna after an illness.

She was born on April 1, 1928 in Hornell, NY the daughter of the late Albert & Marie Saam. She was predeceased by her husbands Raymond C. Corse and David A. Barton.

Jean is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Raymond & Susie Corse, Mansfield, PA; Alan & Alice Corse, Elizabethtown, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law Carol & Ray Rockwell, Susquehanna, PA; Marion & Bruce Seamans, New Milford, PA; nine grandchildren David & Amber Rockwell; Tara & Dale Rhone; Marie Corse; Brenda Rockwell-Halesky; Bradley Seamans; Judy Corse; Meagan & Lou Theil; Rebecca Seamans; Bailey Corse; six great grandchildren Marah Rhone; Victoria Jones; Olivia Rockwell; Morgan Rhone; Paige Halesky; Luella Seamans; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a member of the St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, PA, American Legion Auxiliary Post #86 of Susquehanna. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She loved square dancing, playing bingo, cards and putting puzzles together.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA and 10 a.m. at the St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, PA where a mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Kenneth Seegar.

Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna, PA.
