Elk Lake Students Visit Washington

Students in Mr. J. Kelly Morahan's 11th grade American History class recently visited Washington D.C. Their two-day itinerary included the National Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center, the Holocaust Museum and Arlington National Cemetery. The students toured the Capital building and were met on the steps of the Capital by Congressman Christopher Carney. The students also had free time to visit various museums including the National Art Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of American History.

Elk Lake High School Students Of The Month

Kenneth F. Cuomo, Ed.D, Elk Lake High School Principal, is pleased to announce the following students who were selected as March 2009 “Students of the Month”.

Students of the month are selected by nominations of any student in grades 10-12 by a teacher for outstanding achievement. The student must show individual effort, community and school wide effort, as well as effort in the classroom.

Other important criteria include a showing of personal growth, skill development, dedication, leadership, academic growth and improvement, school service and community service.

Kenneth Krug On RIT Dean’s List

Kenneth Krug of Susquehanna has been named to the Dean’s List for the third quarter at Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology. A third-year student in RIT’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Kenneth is studying Software Engineering.

Kenneth is the son of Ed and Arlene Krug of Susquehanna. He is a 2005 graduate of Blue Ridge High School.
