Bridge Committee Update A meeting of the Susquehanna County Veterans’ Memorial Bridge Committee was held at the Lanesboro Community Hall on June 5. After a light lunch, chairman Tony Napolitano called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m., followed by the tribute to the flag. The poem, “The Bridge of Life” was read. There were ten members present: Tony Napolitano, Carol Rockwell, Chuck Glidden, Gerry Vail, David Hughes, Evan Price, Jeanette Price, Robert McNamara, John Bronchella and Beverly Everett. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted. Ron Crawford and David Burman were nominated, voted on, and accepted as new members. The bridge looks great after it was pressure washed, and the new flags look fabulous. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 2. The meeting was adjourned at 1:05 p.m.
Mt. View Garden Club Update The Mountain View Garden Club’s fourth annual Plant Exchange and Marketplace was a huge success, and plans are already in the works for next year. The May meeting was held at the Clifford Fire Hall with Master Gardener, Donna Zagrapan giving ideas on how to deal with rain runoff and also how to conserve rainwater. Although summer meetings will be held at members’ homes and therefore not open to the public, check the club’s website at www.mountainviewgardenclub.org for the fall agenda.
