Susky Elementary Students Of The Month

Mr. Robert Keyes, Principal of Susquehanna Community Elementary School, announced the "Students of the Month" for December, 2007.

Karen Marie Halesky Graduates Clarion

A number of students received diplomas during commencement ceremonies at Clarion University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 15, 2007.

Karen Marie Halesky, Montrose, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Media Arts and Journalism.

EL Students Compete In Entrepreneurial Experience

Two tenth grade students from Elk Lake High School recently competed in the Wilkes University Entrepreneurial Experience on the campus of Wilkes University. The students had to create a company business plan and present the plan to a panel of investors consisting of professors from Wilkes University, including the Chair of the Entrepreneurial Department. Sarah Myers and Seth Canfield presented their plan for “Country Side Shoe Store” to the panel. When the competition was complete, Sarah and Seth finished in second place. The contest was open to all 45 schools in northeast Pennsylvania. A $200 award was donated to Elk Lake for their achievement. Kaitlin Flor Makes SBU Dean’s List

Kaitlin Flor, a 2007 graduate of Susquehanna Community High School achieved Dean’s List status at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. Kaitlin completed her first semester at SBU with a major in Journalism and minor in Political Science. Kaitlin hopes to study abroad in Madrid, Spain in 2009, with a second minor in Spanish. Her long-term plans are to attend law school to study Entertainment Law.
