HEADLINES Elk Lake Elementary Students Of The Month Mr. Charles Pirone, Elementary Principal at the Elk Lake School is pleased to announce the December, 2007 Student of the Month Award winners. Pictured (l-r) are: first row – Samantha Rose, Megan Bosscher, Sadie Bosscher, Lauren Herman, Kimberly Mosier, Kylie Mosier, Noah Johnson, Dylan Fernald; second row – Damian Wilson, Alex Hunsinger, Abalardo Lopez, Griffin Arnold, Taylor Howey, Cassandra Dudock, Kevin Valvano. Students in kindergarten, first, and secondgrades were selected by their homeroom teachers. Students may be selected as student of the month from four different areas. Those four areas are academic achievement, attendance, citizenship and most improved. Elk Lake is proud of their students and congratulates them for their accomplishments.
Local Students On King’s Dean’s List Wilkes-Barre, PA – Dr. Nicholas A. Holodick, vice president for academic affairs at King’s College, recently announced the students who have qualified for the Fall, 2007 Dean’s List, having achieved a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. The following students are from our area who qualified are as follows: April Bechtel, Hallstead; Lisa Chiarella, Hallstead; Stephanie Noble, Hop Bottom; Amanda Breese, South Gibson; Melanie Biesecker, Susquehanna.
Local Students On M U Dean’s List Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, announced the Fall, 2007 Dean's List. Nicole Ransbottom On Bloomsburg Dean’s List Nicole Ransbottom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Broad, has been selected for the Dean’s List at Bloomsburg University for the fall, 2007 semester. Miss Ransbottom achieved a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average as she pursues her dream of becoming a nurse. Her future plans are to move back to the area after graduating and starting a career at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY.
