Obituaries

CLARA JANE BROWN

Clara Jane Brown, 72, Hallstead, PA, passed away August 15, 2007. Surviving is her loving husband of over fifty years, Leon E. Brown.

Also surviving are her two sons, Dr. Daniel E. Brown and David W. Brown, both of Hallstead; her brother, Russell Winnie and his wife Beverly; one sister, Joyce; two sisters-in-law, Inez Brown, Evelyn Wood; many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and their families, including Chrissy, Sandy, Doug and Janet. She had many friends, including longtime close friends, Martha and Bob Chamberlain, Ken and Caroline Decker, Joe Plonski, and Gene Osterhout. She also loved Theresa Artigas, Fred VanLoan, and Dyana Brown as if they were her own children.

Mrs. Brown had been employed part-time as a bookkeeper for several area businesses, and most recently was a Susquehanna County auditor. She was very active in the Democratic Women’s Club, the B.P.W. and Susquehanna County politics, especially the Democratic Party.

A memorial luncheon will be held Saturday, August 25, from 12-2 p.m. at the American Legion, Hallstead. Guests are invited to say a few words if they so desire.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead.

Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to your local library, animal shelter, or Meals on Wheels.
