ERNEST J. RIVENBURG, SR.

Ernest J. Rivenburg, Sr., 87, Great Bend, PA, formerly of Thompson, PA, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA, after an illness.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline in 1964 and his second wife, Mary in 1986.

He is survived by his six daughters, Jean Phillips, with whom he resided, Ruth Cook, Ida Lewis, Florence Payne, Clara Rivenburg, Mary Matier; six sons, Charles Rivenburg, Leon Rivenburg, John Rivenburg, Leroy Rivenburg, Joseph Rivenburg, Ernest Rivenburg, Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Moyer, Florence Wallace, Etta Shaffer; three brothers, Asa Rivenburg, Floyd Rivenburg, Willard Sartell; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; family, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ernest was a dairy farmer before his retirement and was a member of the Thompson Baptist Church of Thompson, PA.

The funeral service was held on Friday, June 1 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Pastor Mark Wyman officiating. Burial, East Ararat Cemetery, East Ararat, PA.
