HEADLINES: Air Force Staff Sgt. Brian J. Mills has deployed to Southwest Asia in the Persian Gulf region to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom as a member of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing. Brian is normally assigned to the 6th Maintenance Squadron, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida. Brian is an aerospace repair craftsman with nine years of military service. He is the son of Michael and Susan Sadlon of New Milford, and a 1997 graduate of Blue Ridge High School.
Sgt. 1C Thomas Mortenson Honored For Service Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Mortenson (pictured), originally from Susquehanna, was one of 88 soldiers honored as part of game-week festivities at the 2007 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. The only national football game in the country that brings together the nation’s best high school football athletes, the All-American Bowl featured a series of events showcasing the ideals of leadership, courage and strength that these elite athletes and soldiers live by. The soldiers represent Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve commands from 27 states across the country, and each soldier has earned a Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal or Purple Heart for service in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Sgt. 1st Class Mortenson served in support of Operations Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his service. He is currently assigned to the 63rd Regional Readiness Command.
Amn. Timothy Redington Graduates Basic Training Air Force Airman Timothy J. Redington has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Timothy is the son of Sally Redington, Susquehanna, PA. He is a 2006 graduate of Susquehanna Community High School.
