Maj. James L. Drake Deployed To Germany

Army Maj. James L. Drake has arrived for duty at Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Drake, a deputy chaplain with 12 years of military service, is assigned to the 415th Base Support Battalion.

His wife, Yolanda, is the daughter of Ernest and Faye Blachek of Hop Bottom, PA.

The major received a bachelor's degree in 1981, and a master's degree in 1985, both from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Smn. Stephen Handl Completes Training

Navy Seaman Recruit Stephen F. Handl, son of Nancy A. and Peter U. Handl of Meshoppen, PA, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.

Stephen is a 2005 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School.
