PIZZA NIGHT, Thursday, December 29, 5:30 – 9 p.m. at the Binghamton Elks Lodge, Kirkwood. Eat in or take out. All are welcome.

December 31

WORLD PEACE Meditation, Saturday, December 31, 7 a.m. at the Self-Discovery Wellness Arts Center, Montrose. Donation. Bring food to share for breakfast. For info call 278–9256.

January 7

PANCAKE BREAKFAST, Saturday, January 7, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at East Ararat United Methodist Church. Proceeds will go to the Lyman family, who lost their home to a fire. All are welcome.

Senior Menu January 2 – 6

Monday, January 2: Centers closed for New Year holiday.

Tuesday, January 3: seasoned pork chop, mashed potato, corn, grape juice, seeded rye bread, graham cracker, applesauce.

Wednesday, January 4: Italian sausage, home-style baked beans, hot dog bun, chewy granola bar, pears.

Thursday, January 5: chicken casserole, French style green beans, cranberry juice, honey wheat bread, cherry pie, cherries.

Friday, January 6: macaroni and cheese, baby carrots, three-bean salad, whole wheat bread, fresh orange.

Court House Closing Notice

The Susquehanna County Commissioners announce the Courthouse will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2006 in observance of New Year’s Day. All court related offices will be available.

Universalists Schedule Christmas Plans

Amid the scent of pine and candlelight, the First Universalist Church of Brooklyn will celebrate the Christmas Eve Service at 8 p.m. The service will open with the solo sound of “Once In Royal David’s City,” followed by special arrangements by the church choir. Pastor Christianson will deliver the evening message entitled, “This Child Cradles All.” The service will close with Communion, open to all and the sharing of light as “Silent Night” is sung.

Sunday, January 1, 2006 (New Year’s Day), at 10 a.m. the New Year’s Service will bring a message from father time.

Sunday, January 8, at 10 a.m. the congregation welcomes the season of Epiphany and a message from the wise men bearing gifts to Bethlehem’s Child. The service will close with all sharing an Epiphany charm cake. The public is invited.
