The Clothes Closet would like to announce that the spring and summer garments are now on display and ready to go. The Clothes Closet, located in the Thompson United Methodist Church, has been open for almost a year now, having clothing available to individuals who would like to come in and select garments for themselves or their families.
All clothing has been generously donated to the Church and in turn is given without charge to those who request it. The Clothes Closets schedule has been slightly disrupted for the past few weeks due to renovation in the Church, which includes the addition of two new handicapped accessible rest rooms. It is hoped that this addition on the main floor of the church will enable persons with physical difficulties to be more comfortable attending services.
The Church doors are open for the Clothes Closet on Fridays, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Anyone who has an immediate need for clothing may call Pastor Brian Lucas at 7272341, Mary Gray at 7562652, Linda Chesnick at 7273193, or Joy Mead at 7272518.
The Church would like to thank everyone who has donated clothing to the Clothes Closet for this outreach work.
The Great Bend Alliance Church, located on Randolph Street, Great Bend, will host a spaghetti dinner on May 22 at 5:30 p.m. The dinner will be followed by a concert, at 7:00 p.m., performed by Gospel Bond. Gospel Bond will also perform on Sunday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a freewill offering taken for Gospel Bond during the concert on Sunday.
All are welcome to attend any or all of these events. For info or directions to the church, phone (570) 8792741 or (570) 8792758.
