Pvt. Reed J. Shave Completes Training

Marine Corps Pvt. Reed J. Shave, son of Marryanne and Mark C. Waddington of Lawton, PA, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC, designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.

Reed and fellow recruits ended their training phase with The Crucible, a 54-hour, team evolution culminating in an emotional ceremony in which recruits are presented the Marine Corps Emblem, and addressed as "Marines" for the first time in their careers.

Reed is a 2001 graduate of Elk Lake High School of Dimock, PA.
