REMO JOSEPH RADICCHI

Remo J. Radicchi, Windsor, NY, at the age of 73, went to be in the arms of his Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2003.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ida Radicchi; father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Vira Atwell; brothers, Carlo, Phillip and Francis Radicchi.

Remo is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Atwell) Radicchi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ettore and Nancy Radicchi, Romolo and Ruth Radicchi, Rita Radicchi, and Barbara Radicchi; brother-in-law, Robert Atwell and friend Diane; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Bill Garlick, Theresa and Michael Terrell, Barbara and Gus Fabrizi, Diane Hart; a special niece and her husband, Elizabeth and Donald Keller. He was a wonderful grandfather to 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also, he was a devoted Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Remo was a retired conductor of the Erie Lackawanna and Conrail Railroad after 43 years of service. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Knights of Columbus Council 10803, Windsor, NY. He served as Grand Knight, District Deputy and held numerous positions at the conference level.

The funeral service was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Windsor, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered by the Rev. Hobbs and Rev. Murphy. Burial, St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.

His family asks that donations be made to Our Lady of Lourdes, Knights of Columbus Council 10803, P.O. Box 34, Windsor, NY 13865.

Arrangements were made by Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna.

MATTHEW L. MENAPACE, SR.

Matthew L. Menapace, Sr., 76, Thompson, PA, died Thursday, August 7, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Betty Sharer, whom he married on September 14, 1946, in St. Peter’s Rectory, Mount Carmel.

Born March 3, 1927, in Atlas, PA, son of the late Charles J. and Christina Bach Menapace, he attended Mt. Carmel Township schools and was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and production supervisor for American Cyanamid Chemical Co. for 35 years in New Jersey. He moved back to Pennsylvania after retiring in 1988.

He was very active in veterans’ affairs and served for seven years as Commander of American Legion Post 12, Somerville, NJ. He was also an honorary life member after his retirement.

Also surviving are a son, Matthew, Jr., Jackson; two brothers, Joseph and James, both of Atlas; a sister, Marguerite Burdick, Wilmington, Delaware; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, attorney Charles Menapace, Jr., Dr. Francis Menapace, John and Paul Menapace.
