Vandalism In Our Borough

We are experiencing a lot of vandalism in Oakland Borough. The park and borough building have both been targets. We know both are not in the greatest shape, but being a small community we don't have the resources for much. We are trying to find grants we'd be eligible for, but then the thinking is why bother, it'll just be destroyed! Keep in mind, it's your taxes that are paying for these repairs. The cost of the broken door handle on the borough building exceeded $110.

If anyone has any information on these incidents or the rash of incidents involving cars break-ins and vandalism to same, please call Bob VanFleet, the state police, any council member, or 853-2991. Your name can be kept confidential. Also, if you see anything suspicious call 853-2911. Write down descriptions or names if known, the time and date, a license number if a vehicle is involved.

If anyone is interested in forming a Crime Watch, please call Cindy Cordner at 853-3214 or any council member.

If we catch you vandalizing, we will prosecute and you will pay.

Sincerely,

Oakland Borough Council
