GLENFORD E. SAMPSON

Glenford E. Sampson, 87, Lanesboro, PA, passed away Monday, June 16, 2003 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after an illness.

He was born in Starrucca, PA, the son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Smith) Sampson.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion on March 26, 2003; and grandson, Marcus Heesh.

Glenford is survived by his stepchildren, Doug and Mary Heesh, Lanesboro, Lee and Mary Heesh, Spokane, WA, Robert and Rose Heesh, Astitila, FL, Dolores and Ken Carpenter, China Grove, NC; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Vivian Burdick, Esther Meyers, Joyce and Don Kane; two brothers-in-law, Delos Glover, Keith Glover; one cousin, Betty Bull.

He had many friends at Turnpike Terrace where he lived for many years. Glen was a Medic overseas, serving in the US Army during World War II. When he returned home, he went into carpentry work for many years and also worked in the maintenance department at Barnes-Kasson Hospital before retiring.

Glen attended the Brushville Baptist Church, Brushville, PA.

A memorial service was held at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Pastor Terry Jenks officiating. Burial, Starrucca Cemetery, Starrucca, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF, Turnpike St., Susquehanna, PA 18847.

RENA EDNA CRANDALL

Rena E. Crandall, 91, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after an illness.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Crandall; one grandson, George Snyder III; several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Snyder, Virginia and Richard Tripp; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Lisa Crandall; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Peg Westgate; seven grandchildren, Carol and Joe Skiba, Cindy and Vince LoVuolo, Richard and Zina Tripp, Jackie and Steve Ferneci, Randy, Stephanie and Donnie Crandall; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Susquehanna, PA.

Funeral services were held from Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with the Rev. Carl Batzel officiating. Burial, McKune Cemetery, Oakland, PA.
