RHODA HAZEL TAYLOR

Rhoda H. Taylor, 84, Lanesboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after an illness.

She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Wilson Wheaton; one niece and nephew-in-law, Nancy and Gerald Kuhn.

Rhoda is survived by three great-nephews, Gerald and Deb Kuhn, Bill and Sue Kuhn, Bob Kuhn and fiancée, Ariana Russell; four great-nieces, Sherry Haskell and fiancé Tony Hull, Jane and Mike McCabe, Susan Cole and fiancé Joseph Vallone, Mary and Brian Bohn; special neighbor and friends, Barb Bedford and family; several great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was retired from Matis Manufacturing of Susquehanna, where she was employed as a seamstress for over 50 years.

Rhoda was a member and Deacon of the Lanesboro Community Church, Lanesboro and the Barnes-Kasson Hospital Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held from the Lanesboro Community Church, with the Rev. Carl Batzel officiating. Burial, Lanesboro Cemetery.

EVERETT L. GATHANY

Everett L. Gathany, 73, Great Bend, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in Dunnellon, Florida. Joan Gathany, his beloved wife of 52 years, survives.

Also surviving are his children, Diane and Greg Deck, Great Bend, Cynthia and Roger Romain, Castle Creek, NY, Michael and Heidi Gathany, New Milford, PA, K. Joseph Gathany and fiancée Debbie Warner, Great Bend; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jim Beavan, Hallstead, PA; his mother-in-law, Doris Downs, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Kilmer, Binghamton, NY, Nancy Baker, Newark Valley, NY; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tina K. Gathany, in 1996.

Everett was a member of the Great Bend Hose Company for 45 years and was a past Fire Chief. He was a retiree from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

A memorial and committal service will be held at United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA, on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Craig Mark officiating. The family will receive callers at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
