MARION I. BEDFORD BURMAN Marion I. (Slocum) Bedford Burman, 84, Thompson, PA, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2002, at her home. She was predeceased by her first husband, Sterling I. Bedford, Sr.; one son, Sterling I. Bedford, Jr.; one daughter, Cindy L. Bedford; stepson, Gerald R. Burman; great-grandson, Jacob Burman; two brothers, Scott Slocum, Jr., Wilbur Slocum; two sisters, Edna Ross Eller, Ruth Phillips. Marion is survived by her husband, Reed Burman, Thompson; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Linda Bedford, Susquehanna; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, David and Diane Burman, Ivan and Elaine Burman, all of Thompson; one daughter and son-in-law, Larene (Lori) and Duane Barton, Lanesboro; special niece, Cheryl Anderson; a stepdaughter-in-law, Bonnie Burman; four brothers, Walter Slocum, George Slocum, Gene Slocum, Harry Slocum; one sister, Ella Mae Stone; six grandchildren, Lisa Barton, Holly Bedford, Connie and Kevin White, Amy and Art Barnes, Jason Bedford, Jamie Bedford; four step-grandchildren, Michael Burman, Michelle Burman, Jeff Burman, Scott Burman; two great-grandchildren, Dusty Barton, Baily Barnes; four step-great-grandchildren, Corey and Garrett Timberlake, Joshua and Corrine Burman; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ararat, PA; Gibson Grange #798; and Susquehanna County Pomona Grange #7. She was a Green Thumb Volunteer at Barnes-Kasson Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels for 18 years. Funeral services were held from Hennesseys Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with the Rev. Keith Albee officiating. Burial, Starrucca Cemetery. FRANK KUKOWSKI Frank Kukowski, 78, Susquehanna, PA, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2002, at the Barnes-Kasson County Hospital SNF after an illness. He was born in Dickson City, PA, the son of the late Chester and Verna (Savinsky) Kukowski. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Anthony Kukowski. He is survived by one brother, Joseph Cook, Carbondale, PA; several nieces and nephews. Frank worked on the family dairy farm in Jackson, PA, all his life. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson. The funeral service was held from St. Johns Church, Susquehanna, where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered by the Rev. Charles Connor. Burial, St. Johns Cemetery, Susquehanna. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnes-Kasson Hospital, 400 Turnpike St., Susquehanna, PA 18847. HELEN OSHEA McHUGH Helen OShea McHugh, Great Bend, PA, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2002. At Helens request, there will be no calling hours.
